Lakai Sheffields are men’s shoes with sizing that range from 5 to 14. The fit is comfy according to several users, and the shoes are able to accommodate wider foot widths.
The sneakers use a 6-eyelet lacing system to secure them to the feet, but since the tongues contain elastic bands, there is no need to keep retying the laces as the bands will help keep the shoes fastened on. The bands also work to contain the tongues, so there’s no risk of them sliding around.
Lace placement is high up on the sneakers, which lessens the risk of them ripping quickly.
Skatewear used to mean anti-establishment outfits. The very game seemed to be for people who wanted to rebel. Gone are those days, however. Skating is now acknowledged as a sport, not just a hobby nor a pastime. Now, skatewear is all about practicality and performance. But that doesn’t mean you can’t be stylish while skating.
Some style tips below:
- Wear dark-colored cropped pants with a crewneck tee or a polo shirt with bold colors. Select the red colorway of Lakai Sheffield shoes for an energetic vibe.
- Brown jeans, a white tee, and a darker brown jacket will work with Lakai Sheffield shoes in dusty yellow/black.
- Lakai Sheffield shoes in black pair well with chinos, a graphic black tee, and a black open baseball open shirt.
- A crisp button-up shirt with chinos and the white/navy colorway of Lakai Sheffield kicks looks nice for casual Fridays.
Lakai Sheffield kicks feel pretty remarkable even without much tech involved. The secret is in the comprehensive design which leaves no part of the shoes unaccounted for. From the placement of the laces and the bands under the tongues to the strong suede material, reflective accents, and grippy soles, every detail was well-thought out to satisfy the serious skater.
The shoes are especially tough, coming out of hard and daily skating sessions with lots of life still left in them. The treads in the soles are cut deep, which means you can wear them down, but they will still offer you plenty of grip. Best of all, the shoes are stylish and can double as lifestyle footwear when you don’t feel the need to ride.
Built around a grassroots tradition, Lakai has emerged as a skateboarding brand with a genuine heart for the sport. The idea to build a company with an authentic passion for the sport came in 1993 to Mike Carroll and Rick Howard, both professional skateboarders. However, it wasn’t yet the time, and they weren’t ready then.
When 1999 came around, the two pro skateboarders decided to accept the risk of launching their own footwear business and founded Lakai.
It was hugely successful in the world of skating. Skateboarders knew they could trust Lakai to produce quality skating kicks that were actually functional rather than just decorative. Lakai was the genuine article and not just a commercialized business.
One of the models that came out from the brand’s skating range is the Manchester which was released in 2007. The shoes were no-frills. They were all clean lines and solid build, engineered solely for performance.
Ten years since the appearance of Lakai’s Manchesters, new kicks built around the legendary skate shoes were launched. Lakai Sheffields carried much of the same profile and build that endeared skaters to the Manchester silhouette. But where the quarters of Manchester shoes were all one panel, Sheffield sneakers featured a perf pattern with reflective material. Mesh fabric on the inside kept the shoes well-ventilated.
- Lakai Sheffield sneakers feature Lux-Lite cushioning and a vulcanized construction.
- The shoes are available in a wide range of colorways numbering around 9.
