Updates to La Sportiva Kaptiva GTX

  • The La Sportiva Kaptiva GTX is a product that is meant for speed training sessions and adventures on the trails. The facade is made of a wraparound knitted textile with hot-melted overlays that are reinforced with some stitching. A slip-on structure permits quick-and-easy wear while an uncluttered design contributes to a light and flexible ride.
  • Dual-density MEMIex foam offers support for the underfoot. It is bolstered by an anti-microbial sockliner and an ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) Rock Guard. The FriXion® XF 2.0 outsole rubber provides traction on a variety of surfaces.

Size and fit

Regular sizing methods are the basis of the creation of the La Sportiva Kaptiva GTX. Runners are welcome to use their usual sizing choices when it comes to trying this product. It is important, however, to recognize the necessity to test the in-shoe experience personally or get ahold of other users’ reviews from different sources to fully enjoy an accommodating ride.

The sideways fit is affected by the semi-curved shape of the shoe-last, the forefoot section’s roomy structure, and the print-reinforced upper. These accouterments are designed to welcome the foot and keep it secure. Medium foot dimensions are likely to enjoy the wrap of this shoe.

FriXion® XF 2.0 is a compound that protects the base of the midsole from the abrasive nature of the surface. This generously layered technology is touted to be durable enough to last long. Also, it has a naturally grippy configuration to allow the shoe to adhere to the ground well.

Prominent gripping lugs pockmark the forefoot and heel of this product. These elements are designed to clamp onto the ground and provide foot-to-surface steadiness, particularly on uneven terrains. Aggressive outsole designs are featured in trail-optimized series such as the Salomon Speedcross and the Altra Superior.

Dual-density MEMIex that has been compression molded serves as the midsole unit of the La Sportiva Kaptiva GTX. This technology is designed to cushion each footfall and deliver an energized forefoot lift. It has a moderately generous thickness to adequately separate the foot from the ground.

The forefoot and heel sections have an EVA Rock Guard which helps to shield the underfoot from sharp objects and surfaces on the trails. It is relatively thin at 1.5 millimeters, yet it can help with the overall comfort of the foot.

An OrthoLite® sockliner is placed right above the primary cushioning system. This add-on offers a soft surface on which the foot can rest. It has antimicrobial and anti-moisture properties for a healthy in-shoe environment.

The Sock-Like™ Compression and Knit Wraparound Tongue make up the upper unit of the La Sportiva Kaptiva GTX. These accouterments are tasked with hugging the foot and keeping it safe inside the interior compartment.

A slip-on construction allows the foot to enjoy a seamless wrap that is not hindered by a traditionally separate tongue unit.

Thermo-adhesive overlays grace the front, sides, and heel. These add-ons are thin yet able to uphold the upright position of the silhouette. They also help in the attainment of a secure in-shoe hug by linking directly to the lacing system.
