  • The La Sportiva Akyra GTX is a running shoe that’s designed for those who want to have a go on the trails. It’s also optimized for those who have neutral pronation. Its façade has a sturdy and well-constructed look that may appeal to those who want an aggressive companion for the great outdoors.
  • The underfoot platform makes use of a compound that’s designed to absorb impact during the foot-strike and give a springy toe-off. The external pad has a rocker shape to facilitate a smooth heel-to-toe transition. Moreover, an aggressive rubber layer offers heightened traction over the unpredictable terrains. Another trail shoe, the Saucony Peregrine 8, offers similar features but using different design concepts.

The La Sportiva Akyra GTX was made using the standard measurements. It mostly follows the usual choices of runners when it comes to length. The width options are D – Medium and 2E – Wide for men, and B – Medium and D – Wide for women. Therefore, this shoe is meant to cater to many foot-types. The semi-curved shape of the last mimics the natural curve of the human foot.

The outsole unit of the La Sportiva Akyra GTX features the FriXion® technology, which is made using a durable rubber. Its purpose is to shield the rest of the platform from wear and tear while also doling out traction.

Aggressive and multidirectional gripping lugs pockmark the heel and forefoot sections. These angular protrusions aim to heighten surface grip, particularly on rocky or jagged paths.

The Trail Rocker™ configuration is a rocker shape that facilitates a natural and enabled heel-to-toe transition.

An Injected MEMIex EVA serves as the underfoot cushioning system of the Akyra GTX. Its job is to carry the foot responsibly throughout the running session. It’s also made to absorb the impact forces during the landing phase and give an energized forefoot lift.

An Ortholite Mountain Running footbed makes sure to place additional cushioning for the underfoot. It has antimicrobial and anti-moisture properties that prevent sweat-retention and odor.

AirMesh Ultra-Comfort is a soft and breathable material, and it’s used as the main component of the upper unit. Its breathing pores permit airflow into the foot-chamber, thus maintaining a cool and dry environment. Furthermore, its three-layer assembly heightens durability and defense.

The TPU MicroLite Skeleton™ is a set of printed overlays that are reinforced with stitching in some sections. This web of thin external layers bolsters the structural integrity of the upper and keeps the foot from wobbling in place.

The GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort provides waterproof protection. This membrane is also capable of preserving the breathable nature of the façade through its micro ventilation ports.

A rubber toe cap safeguards the toes from abrasive debris and irregular surfaces.
