Keen Montford History

Keen is a fast-growing company that was established only in 2003 in Alameda, California. In the same year of its birth, Keen was already named by the shoe trade publication, Footwear News, as 2003’s “Launch of the Year.” And just after six years since the founding of the brand, sales have already reached $140 million.

The first Keen shoes were sandals that featured thick black toe bumpers. This silhouette quickly found a ready market in the outdoor and sailing scenes. From then on, the brand has expanded its lineup and now offer accessories, work boots, and lifestyle shoes as well, the latter of which the Montford belongs to. The Montford carries the legendary Keen comfort plus a rugged look and durable feel that upgrades a regular lace-up sneaker into a whole new level of footwear—one that is destined to become a classic.

Keen Montford Style

Ruggedly stylish defines the Keen Montford well. The silhouette has a durable construction that’s great for both urban and outdoor landscapes. For light hiking outings, wear the low-top sneaker with pants, a plaid shirt, and a neutral-hued vest. Get-together with friends deserves a bit of a style upgrade via a slim-fitting suede jacket over jeans and a tee.

Fit & Sizing

The Keen Montford is a man’s silhouette with sizes ranging from 7 to 16. Half sizes are offered up to 11.5. Round laces provide a secure and easy way to adjust fit. The shoe runs true to length and has a wider than average fit.

Notable Features

If comfort had a name, it would be Keen Montford. The casual footwear was engineered to be as comfortable as possible with its metatomical footbed design. The insole was created specifically to conform to the natural contours of the foot and provide ample arch support. An upper of leather and suede not only keep feet dry and cozy during light rain showers, but it also adds a touch of elegance to the otherwise sporty and rugged shoe. The Cleansport NXT-infused insole keeps foot odor down while mesh linings keep the footwear cool and well-ventilated.

Additional Info

  • The Keen Montford features a heel and tongue pull tab, protective rubber toe cap, and compression molded EVA midsole.
