Keds Triple Metallic History

Vulcanization became a breakthrough technology in different products, especially with the invention of what we now know as sneakers. The process of melting fabric and rubber together produced flexible and lightweight shoes. The U.S. Rubber Company, as one of the leading rubber manufacturers in the US, had several brands of shoes under its belt. In 1916, they decided to consolidate everything under a brand named "Peds," a Native American term for moccasins. As it was already taken, it was then agreed to re-name it to Keds.

Throughout the years and with its first model marketed for women, the brand established a simple and profound mission that Keds is there "to empower women to be who they want to be and to go where they want to go." Over the years, Keds has experimented with its designs but kept the feminine-touch intact. Their #LadiesFirst campaign does not only reflect on their models but their goal as a company as well. It resonates heavily on their design, which also remains unchanged. The canvas upper and the rubber outsoles remain to be relevant up to this day. Few alterations, like what was injected on the Triple, give new life to the sneaker that we are all familiar with.

Keds Triple Metallic Style

Being one of the pioneer brands in the sneaker industry, Keds has already created a silhouette that is distinguishable only to the brand. The Keds Triple Metallic is no exception from it. The low-top recognizable feminine profile gets an upgrade by having a metallic upper, instead of the usual canvas. Coming in four delectable colorways—gold, gunmetal, silver, and light blue, these sneakers, albeit not entirely all neutral, should be effortless to pair with different articles of clothing. The upper provides just the right amount of sheen that is worthy of a second look but not too attention-grabbing to forget the rest of the outfit.

Fit & Sizing

Offered exclusively for women, the Triple Metallic is offered in sizes ranging from 5 to 11 Medium. Half sizes are available except for 10-11. Despite the medium width, many claims that these run on the narrow side. Apprehensive users can go a half or one size larger to get the ideal fit.

Notable Features

Aside from the added glimmer, the Keds Triple Metallic also adds height with its 1" platform. It not only provides an added boost in style but because it is infused with Ortholite footbed, it ensures the users of long-term cushioning. This cushioning system, combined with a linen upper, makes these sneakers insanely breathable.

Additional Info

  • The Keds Triple Metallic has four metal eyelets which provide users an adjustable fit.
  • The brand recommends that to maintain the shoe, it should be spot-cleaned and air-dried.
