Comfort and cushioning are administered by the OrthoLite® footbed and is partnered by a cotton twill lining to emphasize the cozy feel more. Snugging is granted via the dual side goring to secure the foot in place. Women can grab a pair of Keds Double Decker Lurex in size ranges of 5 to 12 in a B medium width.

Some might say that these sneaks resemble a glittery Vans Slip-On shoe in a platform sole, but no it isn't. The sneaker is adequate for casual wear like shorts, skirts, and sundresses. It would also look genius with cuffed jeans and capri pants for a more outgoing look. Colorways available are Champagne which gives off a pinkish glow and Slate for a darker colored option.

The Keds Double Decker is a staple in the company's catalog so distinguishing each iteration to the other would only be ideal. They utilize different materials for the sneaker's upper and here on the Keds Double Decker Lurex they used, you've guessed it, Lurex. Lurex is a type of fabric or yarn incorporated with a shiny metallic thread.

Discovery and success would not be possible if there were no trying. The U.S. Rubber Co wanted to penetrate the plimsoll market so bad they created 30 shoe designs which eventually failed. This experimentation period happened in between 1892 to 1913, a time where rubber industrialization is a big hit.

1916 saw a breakthrough for the ambitious rubber-centric company. After producing unsuccessful iterations, they ended up with a light canvas sneaker with a rubber sole which they called the "Champion." Simultaneously, they renamed their company to Peds but due to patenting issues, the brand had to reconstruct it by using "K" in place of the "P." Since then, the company was known to be Keds.

For more than a century, Keds has been providing the public with hip and stylish sneakers which, by the way, is also their pioneer idea. Based on the designs of their sneaker lines, the company stayed true to its original form of slim-fitting silhouettes which is now suitable for female customers.

As the time went by, generations of trendy and fashionable individuals surfaced the face of the earth. Keds addressed the growing demand by producing numerous styles and designs which still takes the core look of its predecessor. Shoes like the Keds Double Decker Lurex displays a glossy look on its upper which is conveniently made into a slip-on shoe.

  • Aside from giving the upper a lurex approach, the sneaker also used nylon as a textile material.
  • The OrthoLite® insole also wicks away moisture and is anti-microbial.
  • For its sole, the shoe is manufactured with a vulcanized construction sitting atop a durable rubber outsole.
