2 reasons not to buy

  • Some reviewers wish that the Keds Champion Floral would come in wide widths.
  • Like the original Champion, this Floral rendition feels stiff at the heel part.

Bottom line

Keds makes another chic and fashion-forward upgrade to its classic Champion by introducing the Keds Champion Floral sneakers. Like the original Champion silhouette, the modern rendition flaunts a low collar construction with four-eyelet lace closure and floral-printed twill upper.

The floral upgrade receives mostly positive feedback from the market. Although far from the basic look of the Champion, the Champion Floral remains as versatile and as stylish as its predecessors. It could get a little stiff at the heel part, but the overall comfort overshadows this minor flaw.

The Keds Champion Floral is a low-top sneaker made exclusively in women’s sizing.

As with the Champion, it displays a low profile that permits maximum ankle mobility. It also has a lace closure system that comes with four pairs of eyelets and flat cotton laces for a customized fit. The twill floral upper fits nicely on foot and allows plenty of movement.

Keds spruces up the iconic look of the iconic Keds Champion by throwing fun floral prints throughout the upper. This feminine rendition maintains the silhouette's versatility – which is one of its most desirable characteristics. Although infused with floral twill upper, this low-top suits a variety of outfits from summer dresses to jeans, shorts, leggings, or maxi dresses.

Aside from the round cotton tonal laces, also provided is an extra set of white laces, so ladies have an option to transform their look quickly.

The features and technologies of the Keds Champion Floral are no different from the core model. It has a low-top, lightweight construction that suits day-to-day wear and versatile styling. But what sets it apart from the original Champion and its countless renditions is the upper design. This particular Champion version features a floral-printed twill upper in place of the classic plain-colored canvas of the first Champion.

Keds has been in the sneaker industry way before Nike, Adidas, or Puma are established. It was officially founded in 1916 when the largest rubber manufacturer in the world, the US Rubber Company, decided to consolidate all the footwear companies under its umbrella and collectively call it as Keds.

That same year, Keds produces the first-ever "sneaker" - footwear with a canvas upper and rubber sole. This shoe is known today as the Original – the Keds Champion sneakers. Since then, the Champion has been the most successful and recognized sneaker model from the brand. It plays a vital role in the history of fashion and women's sneakers.

Joining the intensive lineup of modernized Keds Champion sneakers is the Keds Champion Floral. The new addition to the ever-growing Keds Champion collection shadows the profile of the original Champion low-tops but gets an upgraded upper design. While the original shoe features solid-colored canvas uppers, this version did away with that for a fresh look. It uses twill material printed with floral details. The lace closure system, thinly-padded collar and tongue, and rubber outsole remain.

  • The Keds Champion Floral sneakers feature Dream Foam footbed and soft, breathable chambray lining for added comfort.
