You get solid performance with a few problems here and there but they’re versatile, doesn’t focus on one playstyle/player build and don’t break the bank.

If you enjoy firm tooling then you’ll probably enjoy the setup, but some might want something a bit more forgiving.

So the breathability is excellent. I played two hours in the court in the hot weather, but still feel great .

According to a few basketball shoe authorities, the Jordan Extra.Fly is a slightly more affordable version of the Jordan Super.Fly.  Aside from the price, the two models also differ in cut. The Super.Fly is a mid-top shoe while the Extra.Fly is for those who like a more flexible low-top ride.

The Jordan Extra.Fly is constructed with a one-piece upper that is overlaid with synthetic mesh. The forefoot has perforations that ensure breathability. To securely hold the foot down, the upper has an integrated Flywire system.

The midsole has Phylon and a Zoom Air unit: technologies that ensure a cushioned and responsive ride.

The outsole is made of solid rubber, and it features a modified herringbone pattern for a reliable grip on almost any surface.

Though this is not a signature shoe, the Extra.Fly is heavily associated with Indiana Pacers’s Victor Oladipo who plays as a shooting or point guard.

Cushion. The responsive cushioning goodness of the Jordan Extra.Fly comes primarily from the combined power of Phylon and Zoom Air. The lightweight Phylon in injected in the midsole. This technology has been a go-to midsole material for a time now. It is made from EVA foam pellets, and it is known for its lightness and responsiveness.

A bouncy Zoom Air unit is strategically placed under the forefoot. This shoe technology is characterized by its use of tightly stretched tensile fabrics that compress when pressure is applied on them, providing the necessary cushion and impact absorption. They then spring back to provide a highly energized response.

Traction. The modified herringbone pattern on the outsole of the Jordan Extra.Fly allows for abrupt stops and quick changes in direction. It is made of solid rubber, so it also contributes to the shoe’s overall durability.

Length and Width. While many are happy with how comfortable and light a Jordan Extra.Fly shoe is, some users feel that this shoe runs a bit tighter than expected. New buyers are advised to go at least half a size larger.

Lockdown. A pair of Extra.Fly shoes from the Jumpman is securely held in place by Nike’s signature Flywire technology, which makes use of vectran or nylon threads that wrap around the foot like tendons. They provide support in the same way that metal cables hold suspension bridges in place.

The shoe also has an asymmetrical collar that provides the necessary ankle support to a player who does a lot of crossovers and quick first steps.

The upper of the Extra.Fly has a one-piece cleatie construction. It has a mesh overlay that together with several perforations on the forefoot provides high levels of breathability and overall comfort. The part that covers the heel is made of a sturdier material to provide reliable support during motion.

The Jordan Extra.Fly comes in monochromatic or two-color-combination colorways. Its look is further enhanced by two-dimensional diamond patterns that cover the forefoot. The heel area has bolstered diamond patterns for a more active appeal.
