  • The Guffert GTX is part of Meindl’s B/C range of boots. Its inclusion in this category means it has the right amount of stiffness, support, and strength for light-to-moderate types of terrain.
  • Its over-the-ankle upper is made of oiled nubuck leather. It is imbued with a Gore-Tex laminate, making the boot breathable on the inside yet waterproof on the outside.

Meindl’s Guffert GTX is a high-cut, generally true-to-size day hiking boot for men and women. Both versions come in standard width in whole and half sizes. It is built around the Comfort Fit last which offers a roomier, much wider forefoot zone. Its lacing system grants a personalized fit.

Helping day hikers maintain their footing on the trail is the Meindl Multigriff outsole. A product made in collaboration with Vibram, this component produces grip in practically every direction thanks largely to its adequately lugged and treaded surface.

The Guffert GTX’s multi-density midsole provides users with ample underfoot comfort and stability on unpredictable footpaths and trails. It is made up of a stabilizing hard frame, soft polyurethane wedge, and EVA shock absorber.

Sitting securely on top of this burly layer is the Meindl-exclusive Comfort Fit footbed. A layer made of cork with a fleecy surface, this removable insole offers a combination of support and cushioning. It also provides extra comfort with its built-in Poron shock absorber at the heel.

Oiled nubuck leather makes up the majority of the Meindl Guffert GTX’s upper. It has adequate protection from wet elements and the unpredictable weather thanks to its Gore-Tex Performance Comfort liner. It also comes equipped with a hefty rubber rand to up the boot’s defenses against abrasive hazards.

Meindl engineers gave the boot a fairly straightforward lacing system. Its eyelets are all metallic with the upper ones having an open hook design for speedier lace-ups. The designers also placed a lace keeper on the boot’s tongue.
