Who is it for? The Giro Ventana Fastlace is marketed by the brand as an MTB shoe that marries the comfort and stability of a trail running shoe and the support and pedaling stiffness of cycling shoes.
Cyclists who value the following features should check out this shoe:
- No-fuss retention system
- Seamless upper
- Stiff enough soles
- Trail running shoe-like fit
What is it for? This shoe is designed for the following biking pursuits:
- Cross country
- It has been tested in the Downhill World Cup arena.
Stiff. This Giro shoe's sole is equipped with a stout nylon shank responsible for adequate power transfer during the climbing sections.
Traction. The grip of this footgear is governed by the brand's proprietary Sensor rubber outsole. This helps make sure that the wearer stays upright off-bike.
The Giro Ventana Fastalace employs the traditional MTB two-bolt cleat design. It is compatible with the following clipless MTB pedals: HT Components T1, Shimano PD-M8120 XT and DMR V-Twin.
The cleat area has plenty of adjustment room to find the ideal cleat positioning.
Quick to adjust. The lockdown of this shoe is governed by the Fastlace system and a hook-and-loop strap. The Fastlace closure employs a cord lock and soft lace guides for a fast and secure fit adjustments.
A heel loop is provided to help in easier on and off, while a lace tuck serves as the excess laces' safe keeper to prevent it from getting caught in the bike.
Comfort. This pair's upper is crafted from mesh and bonded PU. This seamless construction prevents seam rubbing and chafing and also provides a breathable and lightweight feel.
Protection. Both the toe box and heel areas are reinforced to protect the toes from rocks strikes and bumps. It also enhances the shoe's overall durability.
The Giro Ventana Fastlace features EVA footbeds for support in the arch and forefoot areas.
The Giro Ventana Fastlace is derived from its sibling called the Giro Ventana. The standard Ventana employs a BOA dial and velcro strap, while the Ventana Fastlace exchanges the BOA dials for the friction cord lock and its strap is placed further up the bridge of the foot.
Other than this, both cycling shoes share the same specs.
