  • The Superalp NBK GTX is designed to overcome long distances while carrying heavy loads. It uses a Vibram Fuora for traction on various terrain types.
  • The dual-density PU, Custom Fit IMS 162 and lasting board work together to provide a supportive and comfy ride. The Internal Midsole System coupled with the Exoskeleton frame aids in stabilizing stride.
  • The upper has a 2.6 mm nubuck leather lined with a Gore-Tex laminate. A rubber rand and a combination of eyelets complete the upper.

The Aku Superalp NBK GTX is a high-cut backpacking boot for men. It fairly runs true to size and comes in standard width. It is offered in full and half sizes. The last used, the Anatomical Fit, promotes stability and dynamic action even on the most rugged trails. The 45-degree angled lace lock allows fit customization in two sections by separating the pressure on the lower and upper part of the boot.

The Vibram Fuora  is what enables the Superalp NBK GTX to bite into most surfaces. It has aggressive and widely-spaced lugs which grip and prevent muck build-up. The large contact area on the toes enhances traction during ascent, and its 90-degree angled heel allows braking.

The Superalp NBK GTX midsole features the Internal Midsole System (IMS) which has three components. One is the lasting board that connects the midsole to the upper. It is made of 6-4 mm nylon, 10% carbon fiber and die-cut EVA. Another is the lightweight dual-density PU. This component is responsible for shock absorption and stability. Finally, there’s the Exoskeleton frame for providing lateral stability and torsional rigidity.

The boot also comes with the Custom Fit IMS 162. It’s a multifunctional and breathable footbed that features sweat management abilities.

This boot for backpacking uses a 2.6 mm nubuck leather lined with the Gore-Tex Performance Comfort laminate. This combination renders a durable, waterproof and moderately insulated upper. A rubber rand that surrounds the base of the upper serves as reinforcement and protection. Its lacing system uses a combination of webbing and rolling eyelets for quick closure. A padded collar and stretch zones in the front and rear of the boot render comfort and mobility.
