Updates to Hoka One One Conquest 2
- Hoka uses a softer upper in the Conquest 2 to respond to previous issues about an upper that is too rigid for comfort. This new version adapts nicely to the foot for enhanced comfort. The seamless upper construction, especially in the forefoot, will work wonders for comfort and fit.
- There is also a bigger and wider mesh for improved breathability. Hoka strategically placed the synthetic overlays and midfoot panels for superb midfoot lockdown.
- The heel takes a significant upgrade in the form of more padding and a bigger loop. This makes the shoe more comfortable while ease of entry and exit is bettered.
Hoka One One Conquest 2 size and fit
The fit and sizing of the Conquest 2 fairly follow the original version. It means that this is of average measurement from heel to the forefoot. The fit is snug with ample room in the toe box. Available widths are D and B while sizes are from 6 to 15 for the men’s and 5 to 11 for the women’s.
Full ground contact through regular and moderate tread pattern in the outsole offers stability and adequate bite. Hoka uses its own High-Abrasion Lightweight Rubber for superb durability and sufficient traction on the road. This particular outsole material could also be found in the Hoka One One Arahi 2, which is one of the brand's most popular running shoe.
A big part of the midsole is the technology most associated with Hoka, which is the meta-rocker. In this version, the “rockered” design happens a bit earlier in the gait cycle for a quicker transition from heel to the forefoot. Hoka’s 30% more cushioned SOFT EVA makes the cushioning plush and extremely comfortable. For midsole durability and responsiveness, another brand-exclusive technology in the RMAT is utilized. Hoka incorporates drainage holes in the midsole to drain water.
A closed mesh for sufficient breathability houses a seamless interior that hugs the foot in comfort. Synthetic overlays and midfoot panels combine to add support and structure to the shoe. An external heel counter provides excellent heel support while the oversized heel loop makes foot entry and exit quick and effortless.
