86 / 100 based on 4 expert reviews

  • 90 / 100 | Gear Mashers | | Level 1 expert

Easy to get in and out of, feels a little hot, toebox provides extra room, laces are too long, replaceable heel pads, interchangeable arch foams, light, and no hotspots.

  • 90 / 100 | Bike Radar | | Level 2 expert

when it comes to comfort, the Sentrie Techlace has more than its fair share. With limited hard structures on the upper, and the Exofiber being quite pliable, the shoe conforms to your foot nicely.

  • 80 / 100 | Road.cc | | Level 1 expert

An immensely customisable, repairable shoe that's lightweight and good at power transfer

  • 80 / 100 | Road Cycling UK | | Level 1 expert

Sole stiffness is excellent, offering plenty of rigidity while allowing for an element of comfort, while ventilation is very good. The closure system also works well, even if it may take a little practice getting the fit right if you’re switching from a more conventional shoe. Despite being the third-tier option in Giro’s Techlace range, the Sentrie Techlace isn’t cheap, but performance is impressive nonetheless.

The Giro Sentrie Techlace is a road cycling shoe. It is the third installment from the brand that champions their Techlace technology. This system replaces the standard D-rings and other hardware with laces resulting in a more supple feel across the top of the foot. Down low is an Easton EC70 Carbon Composite outsole for excellent rigidity.

Adequately rigid sole. Crafted with the Easton EC70 Carbon Composite outsole, this shoe offers excellent power transfer thanks to its stiff sole.

Replaceable heel pads. The heel pads could be replaced once they start to lose traction and show signs of wear. This feature helps lengthen the lifespan of the shoe and offers the users excellent value for their money.

Breathable. Steel hardware is engineered into the sole to act as ventilation and increase breathability.

The Sentrie Techlace by Giro features a three-bolt cleat system. It is suitable for any three-hole road bike pedal. Check out the following pedals: Look Keo Max, Shimano Ultegra R8000, Garmin Vector 3s, Shimano PD-R540, and many more.

Supple feel across the foot. This shoe employs Evofiber construction technology. It fuses mesh and microfibre into a single fabric by welding and bonding them. It eliminates extra seams and adhesives that cause hotspots and irritation. It also holds shape well, is fast-drying, and easy to clean.

On-the-fly adjustment. Once you get the fit of the laces that are secured by straps, it doesn’t need readjusting again. The only feature that has to be adjusted is the BOA L6 dial. It tightens in 1mm increments and completely loosens via the macro release function.

Supportive feel. Toe and heel microfiber reinforcements provide added structure to the shoe and support to the wearer’s foot.

Adjustable arch support. This shoe features the brand’s popular SuperNatural Fit Kit technology. It offers three different levels of arch support with measurements from small to large. The arch support foams are attached via Velcro.

Anti-microbial treated. This model employs an anti-microbial barrier that is bonded with the inner lining fabric. It helps fight odor-causing microbes and discoloring to keep your pair looking fresh and odor-free.

  • Perforation detailing is strategically placed on the tongue and outsole for enhanced breathability.
  • Branding can be seen on the lateral and rear parts of the upper.
