Who should buy the Giro Factor Techlace
The Factor Techlace by Giro is engineered for road cycling. It is a solid option if you:
- Need a shoe that has an adequately stiff sole, lightweight build, and unique closure system to provide efficient performance to the road cyclist.
- Need a Techlace system with the easy adjustment of the BOA dial for an optimal fit.
The Easton EC90 SLC2 carbon fiber outsole
The shoe employs the Easton EC90 SLC2 carbon fiber outsole. This material is recognized as one of the most lightweight and rigid platforms for road cycling shoes. It provides a comfortable fit, efficient power transfer, and direct connection to the pedals.
Replaceable heel walking pads
This model allows the renewal of heel pads once they need replacement. This feature lengthens the shoe’s lifespan and offers its buyers excellent value for their money.
Three-bolt cleat system
Just like most road cycling shoes, the Giro Factor Techlace features a three-bolt cleat system. Three-bolt mounts are said to offer a more secure connection to the pedals compared to the 2-bolt version.
Durable and breathable upper material
The shoe’s one-piece upper is constructed from Evofiber SL. This material is made with Teijin microfiber that’s both durable and breathable.
Fast adjustment, supple feel, and replaceable closure system
The Techlace system utilizes hardware laces for a snugger fit across the foot. The laces are also replaceable if damaged. Coupled with the Techlace is the BOA IP1 dial, which offers a fast and easy adjustment. The dial could be adjusted in 1mm increments on both tightening and loosening. It also features a macro release for immediate release.
Giro Factor Techlace's supernatural fit technology and XT2 anti-microbial fiber top sheet
Inside the shoe, the footbed is equipped with the brand’s signature SuperNatural Fit technology. It features three arch-supports called S, M, and L. These foam pads are attached via Velcro.
The insides are lined with the XT2 anti-microbial fiber top sheet to keep shoe feeling and smelling fresh.
