-This approach shoe from Garmont wears a tri-density, microporous midsole for all-day support and comfort. On the other hand, a sticky Vibram Q811 rubber sole enables it to perform on various terrain types.
This low-top Garmont product employs a Vibram Q811 outsole. It is made of XS Trek compound that provides a balanced level of traction and stickiness. Its formulation makes the Dragontail LT GTX responsive on almost all types of terrain. The semi-blocked lugs located in the medial forefoot and heel strike zones help optimize climbing performance. Additionally, the rand that encircles the base of the upper grants a decent amount of friction when sending.
Garmont’s Dragontail LT GTX carries a tri-microporous rubber midsole. This unit is designed to provide resistance against compression. It is made up of three parts. A medium-density foam optimizes comfort and absorbs shock, a firm-density material (placed underneath the heel) grants stability, and a compressed foam (situated at the toe) ensures low compression. A FrameFlex Light nylon insole promotes a stable platform for edging and carrying loads while an ECO PU footbed maximizes shock absorption.
Providing protection against harsh outdoor obstacles is a 1.8 mm suede upper. It is lined with a Gore-Tex Extended Comfort laminate that optimizes waterproofness and breathability. The shoe is reinforced with toe and heel bumpers that support and protect the upper.
Garmont’s Anatomically Directed Design (or a.d.d.) permits the natural movement of the foot to stabilize, absorb shock, and propel forward. This feature includes an asymmetrical cuff for better edging, an anatomical tongue for enhanced control, and differential ankle pads for stability.
The Dragontail LT GTX approach shoe has a lace-to-toe closure for optimal fit management. It is comprised of seven sets of metal eyelets and a pair of webbing loops. The latter is also part of the brand’s heel lock feature that prevents slippage and blisters. Lastly, loops are attached at the back of the shoe and top of the tongue for quick donning and doffing.
