If steadiness is what you’re after in your pair of volleyball shoes, the Adidas CrazyFlight may be what you’re looking for. It is equipped with a responsive foam technology that allows players to be quick on their feet. The underside offers traction on smooth surfaces.
The top is made of a soft fabric for optimal comfort. However, synthetic overlays ensure the material is protected, and the upper holds its shape no matter how intense the action gets.
There are other variations of the CrazyFlight, which include the Adidas CrazyFlight X 2.0 and the CrazyFlight Bounce 2.0. You can see the resemblance in these three models: the mesh upper, rubber outsole, and the TPU midfoot support. The only difference is the type of midsole they employ and how the overlays are designed on the upper.
Superior grip. The outsole of the Adidas CrazyFlight uses the Top Grip Rubber. This compound is engineered to offer traction in any condition. It is slip-resistant on wet or oil-slick surfaces. It is also durable, so players can use their pair longer, even with regular wearing.
Explosive takeoffs. The Adidas CrazyFlight uses the brand’s Boost midsole. This foam technology uses beads of EVA foam that have been fused together. This resulting material quickly bounces back upon impact, making each step bouncy and easy on the joints.
Cozy wrap. A stretch mesh fabric makes up the top of the Adidas CrazyFlight. This material is light and breathable. It ensures air can enter to cool the foot chamber and heat to dissipate.
Protection. Synthetic overlays are used to reinforce some areas of the upper. They protect the toes against abrasion and bumps. At the back, they form a heel panel that steadies the rearfoot. The overlays also make up the three stripes on the lateral and the medial sides of the quarters. They increase the lateral hold at the midfoot when the laces are tightened.
Steadiness. A TPU wrap covers the midfoot section of this Adidas volleyball shoe. The element rises up from the outsole, creating a wall that keeps the foot contained and steady even with quick lateral cuts.
Lockdown. A lace-up system is used for the closure of the CrazyFlight. The shoelaces can be tightened or loosened to deliver a comfortable fit for the player.
A plush foam lines the tongue and the collar. They amplify the comfort provided by the top and also aids in locking the foot in place.
Another pair to look into for support and steadiness is the Asics Gel Tactic 2. A lot of reviewers love it for its bouncy cushioning and grippy outsole. It is equipped with an EVA foam midsole that allows for soft landings. Meanwhile, the shock-absorption it provides is amplified by the Gel component. This component also delivers targeted comfort.
If the CrazyFlight uses a TPU overlay for midfoot stability, the Gel Tactic 2 features the Trusstic System. This hard plastic is placed under the arch and visible in the outsole. This reinforcement prevents the sole unit from excessively twisting to protect the arch from any injuries.
Both models use mesh for the upper. It is supple and has open pores that allow air to freshen up the inside. Soft fabric lines the interior in both models, preventing chafing and blisters.
