Grip, stiffness, cushioning, and fit are all excellent.
More protective and more robust
With the same awesome grip and great protection as its predecessor, the Impact Pro is now slimmer and faster drying than ever before.
If you’re looking for a massive shoe that can really pack a punch and go all in, then the Five Ten Impact Pro is the ultimate choice. Those on the hunt for all-rounders that work well off the bike should probably continue their search.
I've used multiple flat pedals during my time with these shoes, and no matter the pin profile or pedal shape I never had any issues with unwanted slippage.
Everything we liked about the original Impacts, but now in a lighter and even grippier package.
The Impact Pro is designed for aggressive all-mountain and downhill trails. It features a super sticky outsole and excellent toe protection to keep the foot on the pedal and safeguarded against impacts.
This shoe is the updated version of the original Impact model. The original version is the first Five Ten model to feature the ultra-grippy Stealth rubber. Hence it is deemed as an iconic Five Ten shoe.
This pro version is sleeker, lighter and more streamlined as it underwent refinements in the sole for improved grip and durability. Another update is its move away from the leather upper to a water-resistant synthetic material. This revision reduces bulk and drying time immensely.
Excellent grip. The outsole is crafted with the brand’s Stealth S1 technology. Combined with a unique multi-dotty tread design, the Stealth S1 innovation is commended for its ability to stick to the pedals.
Efficient power transfer. The Steal S1 outsole technology has a durometer measurement of 64a. This rubber type is ideal for cycling as it provides essential stiffness for efficient power transfer.
The Five Ten Impact Pro features a flat cleat system. It suits bike pedals such as the following: HT PA03A, DMR Vault Brendog Ice, Nukeproof Horizon Pro Sam Hill, Deity TMAC, Shimano PD-M520, Crank Brothers Mallet E LS and many more.
Flat cycling shoes eliminate the fear of hitting the ground due to not removing shoes from the clips on time. They allow the rider the freedom to plant their feet whenever needed. Also, since the fear is out of the equation, cyclists can focus more on the technical side of completing complicated trails.
Abrasion- and water-resistant, fast drying. The shoe’s upper material is made from a synthetic textile. This material is abrasion- and water-resistant, which offers durability and protection from the elements. When the shoe gets soaked due to unforeseen events, the material also dries quickly.
Exceptional toe protection. Aside from the double protection given by the combination of stitched and reinforced toe caps, the shoe also features an added impact-resistant foam called Poron XRD. According to studies, the XRD technology absorbs up to 90% of the energy during high-speed impacts. It is soft when at rest and instantly “freezes” upon impact. Once force is applied, the foam forms a protective shell that protects the foot from impact.
Time-tested lockdown fit. With its traditional lace-up closure combined with flat rubber-crafted eyelets, this model keeps the foot secure and in place.
The Five Ten Impact Pro comes in both men’s and women’s versions. The distinction between the two is that the ladies’ model is constructed after the naturally narrower shape of women’s feet. However, both feature a spacious toe box. This model comes with cushioned tongues, collars, and insoles for enhanced in-step comfort.
Adequate comfort. The fusion of the Ortholite insole and the compression-molded PU midsole offers added comfort and cushioning. The footbed is detachable, allowing the option for customizing.
- Heel pull-tabs are provided for easier on and off.
- Perforation detailing is placed on the toe box and medial side of the upper for added ventilation.
- Branding is seen on the tongue, footbed, lateral, and medial sides of the upper.
- Lace loops are placed on the tongue to prevent it from sliding to the sides.
