Extremely popular sneakers because of their price range, versatility when it comes to style, and freedom of movement. Almost everyone is guaranteed to have low-top sneakers in their shoe rotation.
Mid-top sneakers extend toward the ankle for a little more support and hold. These lie somewhere in the middle between low-top and high-top sneakers in terms of usage and popularity.
Sneakers with collars that go above the ankles for optimal hold and support are some of the most sought-after models in lifestyle shoes. Most of these shoes take their roots from basketball and have easily or fashionably crossed to mainstream wear.

Regardless of cut, it's always good to start with sneakers that can be worn for the daily grind, also called as "beaters" by some, as these are usually cheaper, easy to clean, and still gives that lifestyle "edge" before going for those wallet-thinning models.
Sneakers dominantly take their heritage from running, basketball, skate, tennis, training, hiking, and football. Still retaining a few of their performance-based technologies, these sneakers have transcended their respective niches and have successfully and popularly transformed themselves as staples of fashion footwear.
Sneakers designed for a laidback, "cool" vibe that is built for lifestyle wear right from the get-go.

Etnies Barrage SC History
The Etnies brand was launched in 1986 and was originally named Etnics before being renamed as Etnies due to legal issues. Pierre André Sénizergues later took over the helm of the company which made Etnies the first skating company to be owned by a pro skateboarder. The brand is now a subsidiary of Sénizergues’ Sole Technology which also owns éS and Emerica, two other skateboarding brands.
The Etnies brand is a recipient of tech researched under the Sole Technology Institute (STI), the world’s first biomechanical research organization which is solely dedicated to skateboarding. This is in line with Sénizergues’ vision of advanced technology, excellent design, and superior function and comfort for all brands under the umbrella of the Sole Technology Corp. Etnies is also quite known for environmentally-conscious policies and for their large Vegan shoe collection which includes the Barrage SC.
Made with synthetic uppers and water-based adhesives, the Etnies Barrage SC fully conforms to the brand’s environmentally-aligned focus. The shoe is extremely lightweight yet durable, designed to provide superior performance in any given activity.
Etnies Barrage SC Style
These lifestyle kicks are great for wearing around town or visiting your mates, but of course, they’ll always look good when worn skater-style. Pair them with light blue jeans, a black shirt, and a plaid shirt worn on top. Or match with slim black jeans and a fitted grey sweatshirt.
Fit & Sizing
The Etnies Barrage is a men’s silhouette that is available in sizes ranging from 5 to 15. Some half sizes are offered as well. The shoes run small so potential buyers may need to go up a half size to a full size bigger to get the right fit. Women who would like to snag themselves a pair of these kicks should go down a half size smaller than their regular shoe size. (Men’s shoe sizes are generally bigger than women’s by a size and a half, but since these kicks run small, women may just need to go down a half size smaller.)
High-wearing comfort combined with minimalist style best describes the Etnies Barrage SC. The shoes are packed with Etnies’ technologies to make simply wearing them a joy for the feet. STI EVOLUTION midsoles provide shock absorption and comfort while STI EVOLUTION foam outsoles give the sneakers durability while keeping them lightweight. Foam Lite 1 insoles keep feet fully cushioned.
- The Etnies Barrage SC weighs a lightweight 198.44 grams per shoe.
- The low-top sneakers contain a fully-lined lycra spandex interior.
