Overall, I know I've been downplaying some of the tech in this shoe, but this shoe is cool as ****. Part of this shoe was made on a 3D printer, that's crazy. I may not think that the performance is anything special, but it is a lifestyle shoe.
And that may be why I enjoyed my time in the Architech Futurist. The fit won’t be for everyone, and it’s firm underfoot — it is a performance tool in every way. And yet, it offers a unique and bold look that I haven’t experienced in any other sneaker.
- The Under Armour ArchiTech Futurist is a training shoe that employs technologies from the past, present, and future. As part of the Architech line, it is created using the 3D printing technology. The model sports a mid-cut profile for ankle support. It features a seamless UA Speedform upper, which is a premium micro-fabric synthetic leather material that is known for its precise fit and comfort.
- An external sleeve hugs the midfoot up to the ankle. It is designed to enhance support and a snug fit.
- A TPU-injected heel clip strengthens the rearfoot area. It steadies the foot during weightlifting.
- The full-length Micro G midsole cushions and stabilizes the foot. It is a lightweight foam that is 30% thinner to reduce the weight of the footwear.
- The 3D-printed heel structure consists of a dynamic lattice network. It serves as secondary cushioning and support.
- The outsole is composed of rubber, a durable component typically used on the bottom of the footgear. It is marked with a mini-lug pattern for traction on various types of surfaces.
The Under Armour ArchiTech Futurist is engineered for both men and women. It generally complies with the standard US training shoe sizing scheme, running from 7 to 15 (with full and half-sizes available) for males and 7 to 11 (in full sizes only) for females.
The bottom of the Under Armour ArchiTech Futurist is meant to be durable to provide traction on different surfaces, thanks to the rubber material that lines it. It has round mini-lug-patterned tread that further contributes to its sticky grip.

The Under Armour ArchiTech Futurist employs the seamless UA Speedform technology, which was developed in collaboration with a bra factory. This material is made of a premium microfiber synthetic leather that fits snugly and moves with the foot. It has perforations all throughout to allow air to circulate within the foot chamber.
An external sleeve wraps around the midfoot to the ankle area, aiming to enhance ankle support and secure the fit. It has a stretchy elastic on the heel area to prevent skin chafing and promote ankle mobility.
A TPU-injected heel clip is concealed in the rearfoot area. It helps to steady the foot during weightlifting and strength training.
