The Meindl Himalaya MFS is stiffer than average 3-4 season boot that boasts a very durable upper and good performance above the snowline. The main drawback is that it isn’t so good for more precise scrambling or walking below the snow.
They’re the kind of boot you pull on, make some guttural exclamation and feel as though you can climb anything.
- The Meindl Himalaya MFS is categorized as a B/C boot. Products of this type are engineered to have enough strength and support to take on especially rough trails.
- Its nubuck upper is adequately protected from abrasions and scuffs thanks to its full-on rubber rand. Its protection from wet elements, on the other hand, is supplied by Gore-Tex.
- The inside of this leather hiking boot is engineered with the MFS System. This technology uses a special type of memory foam that contours to the shape of the foot by means of natural body heat.
Meindl’s Himaya MFS is a high-collared day hiking gear for men and women. Its fit is fairly true to size. It is offered in full and half sizes in standard width. Its classic lacing system and the MFS System work together to give users precision fit.
Offering slip and skid resistance on uneven terrain is the Vibram Multigriff outsole. It has a combination of blocky and circular lugs for multi-directional grip. Aside from traction, this rubber layer also provides impact mitigation, thanks to its marginally upper-encroaching front tip.
On top of the grippy Vibram outsole is the Himalaya MFS’ stabilizing midsole. Embedded in its chunky layer is a soft PU wedge for cushioning. It also has an EVA shock absorber integrated into its heel zone.
Additional underfoot cushioning is provided by the Meindl Air Active Soft Print footbed. It is designed to provide not just extra comfort but moisture and temperature management as well.
The Meindl Himalaya MFS has a stitched-on nubuck leather upper, reinforced with an abrasion-resistant rubber rand at its base. For protection against wet elements, the engineers imbued its main bootie with the Gore-Tex Performance Comfort membrane. This waterproofing tech also gives the boot’s interior proper ventilation.
Besides the synthetic laces, the boot’s closure system features metallic hooks and loops. These combination eyelets are all securely riveted to the footwear’s upper.
