For current owners of the 335, while the 325 is an excellent replacement, it’s just an evolution of the 335 and honestly doesn’t really warrant the upgrade for the loss of 10g. Unless of course your shoes are wrecked.
When it comes to maximal perfomance on weightlifting exercises ans squats however, you’ll get a better result with stiffer and more stable shoes like the Adidas Adipower, or the Nike Romaloes 2. Compared to those shoes, the Fastlift 325 has an advantage in comfort, flexibility, and being lighter in weight.
Great for CrossFit and good value for money. Not my favourite for pure weightlifting as the width of the shoe gives it a little less stability.
- The Fastlift 325 is a weightlifting shoe from Inov-8 which was designed with versatility in mind. Its construction also caters to a number of CrossFit WODs.
- The use of different technologies on the sole such as the META FLEX grooves and the PowerTruss wedge serves to deliver a combination of flexibility and stability.
- The shoe utilizes an elevated heel with a 17-mm heel-to-toe differential. It allows for better ankle mobility during squats.
The Fastlift 325 uses a sticky rubber material for the outsole. It serves to provide better traction and prevent underfoot slipping during dynamic movements.
The shoe also features the META FLEX technology, a groove across the forefoot that adds flexibility to the sole. It allows the forefoot area to bend independently from the rest of the sole.
Small circles in the heel portion of the outsole act like suction cups on flat surfaces. They help to plant the shoe firmly on the ground and provide steadiness during squatting or lifting weights.
The most notable feature of the Fastlift 325 is the PowerTruss wedge. Instead of a full-length midsole, the PowerTruss looks like columns in the heel of the shoe. It is made from thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) which is not easily compressed. TPU is a popular material used in footwear because of its resistance to oil and light weight, aside from its durability.
The upper of the shoe is made from a combination of mesh and synthetic materials. This makes the Fastlift 325 not only light but also breathable. It also helps in keeping the feet cool during rigorous workouts.
The shoe employs a traditional lacing system with flat laces that can be pulled to tighten the fit.
A single midfoot Velcro strap locks the foot inside the trainer. This feature enhances the snugness of the upper.
The TPU part of the midsole extends to the heel portion of the upper mesh to create the Heel Cage which cradles the rearfoot. This secures the foot during lateral movements.
