Updates to Eddie Bauer K-6
- Initially introduced in 1964, the Eddie Bauer K-6 boot is designed for trail adventures. It has a durable full-grain leather which features the Weatheredge membrane, a waterproof and breathable material. This footwear is constructed using a Goodyear welt technique which attaches the upper to the sole by stitching it together.
- Providing a cushioned and stable ride is the boot’s EVA midsole and InsoFit Pro footbed, respectively. On the other hand, in contact with the ground is a rugged Vibram outsole for surface traction.
Size and fit
The Eddie Bauer K-6 is a mid-cut day hiking boot which caters to men and women. It suits individuals with a medium-width foot and is available in full and half sizes. It generally runs true to size. Its conventional lace-up closure permits customization of fit.
The K-6 from Eddie Bauer employs a rugged Vibram outsole. This Carrarmato sole balances grip and durability. It includes large, aggressive lugs which bite into rocks and render stability. It has a self-cleaning design to prevent mud from getting stuck, maintaining its traction. The pronounced undercut heel improves the downhill performance through its braking ability.
The Eddie Bauer’s designers incorporated an ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) midsole. It yields underfoot cushioning without adding weight to the user’s foot. A polyurethane (PU) footbed, the InsoFit Pro, enhances stability through a heel cup and provides forefoot support.
The Eddie Bauer K-6 day hiking boot features a full-grain leather upper. This durable material is lined with Weatheredge, a membrane which protects the foot from getting wet. It is also breathable lining which helps maintain a comfy and fresh in-shoe feel even under moderate activities.
This hiking boot made of leather uses sturdy metal D-rings and a pair of open hooks for its lacing system. Two lace color options complement its closure. Lastly, a pull tab at the back of the boot aids in on and off.
