Ecco Soft 7 Slip On History

Karl Toosbury, who has a strong background in shoemaking, had a dream of running a shoe factory of his own. So in 1963, he established and founded the Danish brand Ecco in Bredebro. Together with his wife, Karl created and assembled his team to start shoe production in a small factory building. At first, he doubted if they would thrive or not, because despite working long hours, they still encountered several problems at that time.

As they continued to work their way to the top, eventually the brand reached its first breakthrough. It was in the late ‘70s when designer Ejnar Truelsen created the model “Joke” which became the foundation of Ecco’s other successful sneakers. By 1974, the company was able to expand and open its business internationally. The company also established several factories across Canada, Europe, Asia and the United States.

Exhibiting a low-top and fashion-forward silhouette, the Ecco Soft 7 Slip-on has soft leather uppers that provide breathability and also stretch enough to adjust to the shape of the feet. The footwear is lightweight and easy to put on. Its contemporary design can undoubtedly match a variety of casual and smart outfits.
