Ecco Exceed Sport History
With a low-top silhouette, the Ecco Exceed Sport is an athletic-inspired sneaker which has a supportive PU cage-liked upper that provides maximum breathability. It is also made of quality materials, making it wear-resistant. Like most of the Ecco footwear, this lace-up sneaker utilizes a direct-injected PU foam midsole for ultimate cushioning while the TPU outsole gives reliable traction.
Thanks to Karl Toosbuy who founded the Ecco brand in 1963, he made it possible for the durable, stylish and comfortable footwear to be experienced by people today. He started his dream by giving up his stable and regular job as a shoe factory manager in Copenhagen. He also sold his house and moved to Bredebro in Denmark together with wife Birte and daughter Hanni.
The Toosbuys started the shoe production with a small team in an empty factory built by the local community. The initial designs were shoes with pointy and thin heels which was produced under the name “Venus.” In 1978, Ecco launched the Ecco Joke, designed by Ejnar Truelsen. The Ecco Joke became a hit among men and women, marking the first breakthrough of the company. This is the first classic shoe that hugely beneficial in the company’s marketing.

It also has a breathable textile lining for an optimal foot climate.
The low-top Ecco Exceed Sport has a PU cage-liked design accenting the upper for an added and unique style. It has a lightweight TPU outsole that features flex grooves for flexibility on the forefoot area and flex web for outstanding stability. Lastly, it has a tongue which is relatively thinner but still has the right amount of padding that offers ample comfort.
