Good to know
Stability and motion control add-ons are uncommon for workout shoes and are never present in CrossFit or weightlifting footwear. They are mostly found in walking shoes where the gait is easier to correct.
Training footwear typically weighs between 200g and 300g per shoe to accommodate agile workouts. Minimalist trainers go as low as 150g, while weightlifting shoes can go as high as 500g.

- As the name implies, the Ecco Exceed Low is a low-cut variation of the Ecco Exceed model. Just like the original, it is designed for extended periods of walking in both urban and off-road environments. The low-cut collar allows the ankle to move more freely.
- The upper is still made of yak leather for a sturdy yet flexible support. The embossed side panels add a stylish touch to the footwear.
- The shoe employs a polyurethane (PU) foam midsole created by Direct Inject Production. This proprietary approach helps in creating a more precise unit.
- At the bottom, the TPU FLEX WEB outsole is used. It helps in keeping the sole flexible and adaptive to various foot movements.
This walking trainer is available in both male and female options. It tends to run true to size and is offered in men’s US sizes 5 to 14 and women’s US sizes 4 to 12. The Size Guide on the official brand website provides guidance on converting centimeters to the corresponding EU and US sizes. Widthwise, the shoe comes in a standard D – Medium profile for men and in a B – Medium one for women.
The underside of the Exceed Low features the FLEX WEB technology. Made of a lightweight yet sturdy TPU material, it provides lasting protection against the wear-and-tear. The diamond-shaped design of the unit allows it to bend in different directions freely as well as ensuring a smooth heel-to-toe transition. The integrated flex grooves promote the natural flexibility in the forefoot.
The trainer relies on the PU foam for cushioning and shock absorption. It is a full-length compound which is created with the help of Ecco’s proprietary Direct Inject Production (DIP). In this process, a shoe upper is put into the mold and the liquid PU is injected to shape the sole unit. It is then anatomically corrected with robot precision to give the end user that “instant fit” experience.
The Exceed Low from Ecco offers a low-cut silhouette to offer the freedom of ankle movement. At the same time, the padded collar and tongue make sure that the edges of the shoe do not rub against the skin.
The trainer utilizes yak leather as a primary material for its upper unit. This material delivers a smooth and consistent foothold without sacrificing flexibility.
The side panels feature an embossed diamond pattern, similar to the one found on the outsole. It adds a stylish finish to the footwear.
A lace-up closure secures the fit on top of the instep. It makes use of webbed eyelets and flat laces for an easy adjustment of the tightness.
