Ecco Cool 2.0 Leather GTX History

Karl Toosbuy had a knack for footwear since he was a little kid. Having been trained early in shoe crafting, he knew that he wanted to open up a company that specializes in manufacturing shoes early on. In 1963 his dream came true and founded Ecco with a premise to create and innovate shoes that allow feet to take control of every stride instead of the other way around. This premise has been the company's vision and driving force ever since.

Karl established the company's first warehouse in Bredebro, Denmark and initially produced a very limited amount of shoes that are exclusive to the ladies. But real success didn't happen for the brand until the 70s. A designer named Ejnar Truelsen designed a shoe called the Joke that did so well amongst the masses that it became Ecco's first triumph.

The brand immediately followed the success of the Ecco Joke by rolling out two other iconic Ecco classics called the Free and Time that further helped in the company's success and boosted it to an international level. Naturally, Ecco expanded its operations and established production facilities in countries like Thailand, Indonesia, and Slovakia. Today, Ecco manufactures and releases countless shoe models and even widened their inventory scope to products crafted from leather such as belts, wallets, and bags.

In 2017, in keeping with the brand's constant innovation to provide the most comfortable shoe, Ecco launched the Ecco Cool 2.0. This is a shoe that boasts of keeping the feet dry and cool from every angle. It features air channels in the midsoles that allow added breathability even from under the feet.

In the same year, the Ecco Cool 2.0 Leather GTX was introduced. A casual sneaker with premium looks thanks to its leather upper and comes equipped with the midsole air channels and Gore-Tex lining that protects feet from the elements. It is available in a number of colorways, so you would most likely find a pair that resonates with your style the most.
