  • a spikeless shoe with excellent grip

Who should NOT buy this golf shoe

ECCO is an expensive brand for sure. So, if the asking price of the Biom H4 makes your eyes moist, consider these more affordable golf shoes:

They are also spikeless, casual-looking, and waterproof.

ECCO Biom H4: An innovative golf shoe packed with tech

Building on the previous model's feedback, the Biom H4 features plenty of improvements from the inside out. This iteration is designed with an all-new last called the Biom 2.0, which provides:

  • a more modern aesthetic
  • enhanced stability
  • a glove-like fit

According to the brand, the last has been modeled and tested taking the data from at least 2500 athletes' feet.

The shoe also introduces ECCO's updated and state-of-the-art outsole called the MTN Grip outsole, which is discussed in detail below.

ECCO Biom H4 vs. Biom Hybrid 3

What improved:

  • The Biom H4 features the brand's new outsole design called the MTN GRIP, which has three different areas for stability, durability, and rotational support. Although the H3 also possesses the same concept, the tread design and materials were enhanced.
  • Biom 2.0 last offers an updated look and comfort, low-to-the-ground stability, and anatomical support.
  • The laces are now linked to the soles for better lockdown and fit.

What stayed the same:

Perfect golf shoe fit

Based on the golfers' feedback, the Biom H4 is stable and locked in the heel and is roomy enough in the toebox. This combination helps the foot be more efficient throughout the swing.

The laces do their job of keeping the foot in place. But if you don't mind paying an extra $30, there is a BOA version of the H4. The BOA moves in 1-mm increments which helps to really fine-tune the fit.

Gore-Tex waterproofing is fabulous

With the waterproofing characteristics of the GTX membrane, you can keep playing in the ECCO Biom H4 no matter what the weather is. It handles rainy conditions with flying colors.

Spikeless but grippy

The shoe's outsole comes with a very reliable grip, even when it gets a little wet.

Some golfers were concerned about the deep channels in between the lugs which are prone to catching dirt. However, they say that this never interfered with the grip.
