Reebok is known for producing the industry’s leading CrossFit trainers for nearly a decade. But apart from the big-name models, the brand has also crafted a line of training shoes that are easy on the wallet and yet able to help the wearers perform their best.
The Reebok Edge Series TR is one of such products. It was created for men who want a do-it-all trainer that they could put on and forget about as they go for a run, do some burpees, lift some weights, and walk back home.
A full-length rubber component lines the bottom of the Reebok Edge Series TR. It guards the shoe against the wear-and-tear brought by intensive training sessions. It also forms a bumper at the front to keep the toes safe from undesirable impact.
The rubber lugs that look like spinning shurikens cover up the entire area of the outsole. They help to grip the surface, preventing slippage even on smooth floors.
Four horizontal cuts are placed in the forefoot section of the rubber. These serve as flex grooves to make sure that the unit bends along with the foot.
The trainer is equipped with an EVA foam midsole which was created through the process of injection molding. This kind of material has a lightweight and responsive characteristic which allows it to cushion the foot without adding too much weight to the footwear.
The foam has been sculpted and raised slightly at the heel of the shoe. This little design tweak contributes to the rearfoot stability when it comes to lifting weights. Because the heel tends to wobble when the wearer picks up the heavy-loaded bar, this feature helps in creating a more stable platform.
The Edge Series TR employs a combination of mesh and synthetics to create a comfortable foothold. The mesh is engineered to be flexible and breathable, forming a pleasant environment for the foot.
The synthetic overlays are added on the high-wear areas of the upper to extend the shoe’s lifespan. They also add structure to the upper and contribute to the lateral support when the wearer moves side-to-side.
