Use - Apparent through its name, the New Balance LD5000 v7 is engineered specifically for long-distance running. It can perform in track contests ranging from 3000 to 5000 meters.
Spike Type - To match the track rubber surface, pyramid pins are attached to the track shoe's plate. These spikes are removable to generate versatile traction. These measure ¼ inch in length for optimal surface grip.
Spike Plate - A Pebax® plate runs full-length on the outsole of the running spike. It exhibits lightweight, durable traction, increasing the athlete's speed.
The prominent upgrade made to the LD5000 v7 is the integration of a semi-aggressive spike plate. It features a new geometry that delivers high-level traction.
Some features from the running spike's predecessor have been retained. One of which is the 4-pin configuration of the shoe's Pebax® plate, intended for featherlight, versatile grip.
Another technical element comprising the long-range spike is the REVlite RC foam. The same midsole material is present in the series' previous model. It supplies the necessary cushioning for the runner to last in the competition.
The LD5000 v7 from New Balance is designed in standard width and only runs in men's sizes. To achieve precise fit and size, women are advised to deduct 1.5 from their usual size preference.
There are two main aspects of the New Balance LD5000 v7 that are tasked with its fit. One is the knitted upper, providing a glove-like wrap around the foot. Second is the classic lace-up closure system, providing a customizable fit to the foot.
Similar to the outsole composition of the Nike Zoom Rival S 9, the LD5000 v7 features a full-length Pebax® plate. It is made of thermoplastic elastomer with low density. This formulation allows for an excellent rigidity-to-weight ratio, preventing drag. The plate makeup also promotes superb traction on the track surface.
To enhance the grip and durability of the running shoe, Dynaride® rubber is equipped to the outsole. This technical component maintains an ultra-light design.
Situated within the platform is a REVlite RC foam. This foam is a proprietary innovation from New Balance. It is responsible for the responsive cushioning of the LD5000 v7. It is a high-density midsole element that supplements lightweight comfort.
For unrestricted foot movements, a knitted upper acts as the coverage of the long-distance running shoe. Its flexible qualities make it an ideal material for security and comfort. It also allows a breathable, featherlight running experience.
For a dialed-in fit, the closure system implemented on the upper is the traditional lacing system.
