-This boot features a combination of Mammut proprietary technologies. Chief among its features is the Flextron sole designed to give hikers more support on challenging terrain.

-It also comes with a 3D Knit upper that has a high level of elasticity for enhanced comfort.

The Ducan Knit High GTX by Mammut is a high-cut trekking boot for men and women. It has the shank and tongue connected on both sides to prevent the tongue from moving sideways. However, this construction makes the entry somewhat narrower.

The upper, though synthetic, is made of Georganic 3D Knit which adopts the shape of the foot. Meanwhile, the lace-up closure lets you adjust the fit whenever needed.

This boot features the Vibram® Flextron outsole which is specifically designed for trekking. Thus, it offers plenty of good grip and traction on different surfaces. The sole also features a good balance of stiffness and flexibility for support and protection.

Mammut takes so much pride in their midsoles. They are among the brands that integrate innovative midsoles into their hiking shoes and boots. For this model, they have used their Flextron technology which consists of a corrugated steel sheet. Called “Flextron plate”, this material enables the user to create an efficient range of movement while providing enough lateral support.

The Flextron midsole flexes with each step, providing better impact absorption. This technology makes the boot suitable for hiking on uneven terrain, and even when boulder hopping.

Meant to provide hikers and trekkers with sock-like comfort, the Ducan Knit High GTX features a knitted upper. It’s not an ordinary knit fabric. It’s an exclusive Mammut technology produced using cutting-edge 3D knitting. This georganic fabric is highly elastic, which means it conforms nicely to the shape of your foot.

The boot is lined with GORE-tex waterproof membrane. It does a great job of keeping water out but it tends to be less breathable. Thankfully, the knit upper still provides some breathability to the shoe.

Furthermore, the Ducan Knit High GTX features a 3D arch support and 3D molded memory foam.

The boot is secured through an asymmetrical lacing system. The tongue is connected to the shank, which means wearers don’t have to worry about it moving sideways. It’s as if they’re wearing a slip-on boot with laces on.
