The AJ 2011 is an easy recommendation for players who want a shoe that offers both luxury and the latest innovation.
the designers of the latest Air Jordan have done well in creating a shoe with straightforward performance for an active and versatile guard/forward
The Air Jordan 2011 ranks very high in fit, aesthetics and performance.
This shoe is great overall and fit it for the all around player.
The 26th installment of the Air Jordan series maintains Jordan Brand’s principle of creating revolutionary basketball shoes that meet the needs of the game’s best athletes. “The AIR JORDAN 2011 continues the franchise tradition of setting the benchmark for superior performance and design,” Tinker Hatfield, VP of Special Projects and Creative Design, told Nike.com. “As a Brand, we recognize that athletes want a shoe that is truly an extension of their various styles of play and efficiently responds to their individual and environmental cues.”
These highly anticipated basketball sneakers boast a handcrafted Patina leather upper and the very first interchangeable midsole system. These features make the AJ 2011 one of the most innovative performance shoes the brand has ever created.
“Each year I challenge the Brand to push the envelope in all aspects of the creative process including design, technology, and the overall performance of the shoe,” Michael Jordan explains. “The AIR JORDAN 2011 is representative of where we are headed as a Brand in 2011 and beyond. With each passing year, Jordan Brand will look to challenge the way the footwear industry and consumers think about performance, and consistently look to improve upon where we have already been.”
Cushion. The Air Jordan 2011 is equipped with the first-ever interchangeable midsole system that allows players to “choose their flight.”
The blue “Quick” midsole features forefoot and heel Nike Zoom Air units that offer an extra responsive ride. This midsole is best suited for quick and agile players who love to cut and slash to the basket.
The red “Explosive” midsole features Cushlon foam with a ¾-length Air unit for a more cushioned ride. This midsole is ideal for explosive and powerful players who come down hard after grabbing a board or making a dunk.
Both midsoles are also equipped with a composite woven shank plate for increased support and torsional rigidity.
Traction. These basketball shoes have a translucent rubber outsole with an elephant print traction pattern. Multidirectional flex grooves ensure enhanced grip on any surface.
Length and Width. Many are commenting that the Air Jordan 2011 is quite roomy. Buyers are advised to go down half a size for a better fit.
Lockdown. These Air Jordan basketball shoes have an inner sleeve that provides a snug, glove-like fit. The shoe’s dynamic loop lace system hugs the midfoot and locks it in place.
The Air Jordan 2011 perfectly combines innovative technology with premium materials. These basketball sneakers introduced a new material that has never been used before in performance footwear: handcrafted Patina leather.
The premium leather can flex and bend without creasing. It is designed to offer both durability and support. Ventilation holes along the upper and a mesh inner cleatie allow heat to escape for enhanced breathability.
Another cool feature of the Air Jordan 2011 is that no two shoes are exactly the same. Each shoe is hand burnished, giving it a distinct style.
These basketball shoes also incorporate a unique constellation-inspired graphic that symbolizes Jordan Brand’s rise to a universally recognized brand.
Air Jordan 2011 ‘Year of the Rabbit’
Michael Jordan was born in 1963, the year of the rabbit. The AJ 2011’s release also coincides with this Chinese zodiac. To celebrate, Jordan Brand launched a limited colorway of these basketball sneakers.
The Air Jordan 2011 ‘Year of the Rabbit’ features a wolf gray Patina leather mudguard contrasted by a white leather upper. The inner cleatie is bathed in China-red while gold laces and stitching compliments the upper’s design.
