Facts

The Yeezy QNTM is only available in unisex sizing. However, the pair only comes in full sizes and half sizes are not offered. So for those who fall in the half size range, it is best to go a half size up for a much better fit. For a more secure fit, the shoes come with long, rope laces that weave back and forth above the Neoprene tongue. One can adjust these rope laces to one’s preferred fit.

Designed as an off-court option, the lifestyle variation of Kanye’s signature look is inspired by performance basketball silhouettes. With that being mentioned, the pair look and feel like a basketball shoe with its high stature and wedge-shape that goes high on the top of the ankle to almost a point around the toe. The sleek construction of this particular variation features a lot more reflective detailing that is not found on the basketball-aligned version.

Moreover, the shoe features a complexion that is aimed towards neutral tones with its tan suede overlays on the toe giving additional styling. Coming in an opaque midsole piece, it is done up with a milky finish. On the heel and ankle portions of the shoe, charcoal hues and stark black colors are evident.

This shoe is geared for lifestyle wear and is stylish enough for a street style, sporty and casual look. One can go for wardrobe pieces such as baggy jeans, cargo pants , denim, joggers or even sweatpants topped with sporty or oversized shirts, flannel pieces and hoodies to complete the look. One can also take fashion inspiration from Kanye West himself, given that this is his creation.

Modelled after a lifestyle silhouette, the Quantum “QNTM” of Kanye’s Yeezy line has a much wider shape than the usual Yeezy models. The shoe features a mid-cut, two-toned Primeknit upper pattern similar to that of the Yeezy Boost 350 V2. It has a relaxed ankle opening with a more relaxed Neoprene tongue that works well with the heightened ankle collar with added padding for ease of wear and superior protection and stability. Wavy, zebra-like design lines along its lateral and medial panels are similar to that of the Yeezy 700 v3. Resting in between the transparent lines are 3M-infused zigzag reflective pieces that shine brightly in the dark and when hit with a camera flash.

Additionally, a semi-transparent plastic cage on the midfoot with a suede toe box adds for a more stylish look. The heightened black heel counter also features reflective accents for more low-light visibility. Moreover, the re-engineered, full-length Adidas Boost cushioning is encapsulated within a semi-translucent herringbone, rubber outsole for extreme comfort and traction.

Written as an abbreviation of the name of the founder Adolf “Adi” Dassler, the Adidas brand started when the Dassler family began manufacturing shoes after World War 1. The brand began to be known at the 1936 Berlin Olympics when the American track-and-field icon Jesse Owens wore the shoes from Adi Dassler on his medal-winning performances. Since then, the momentous event increased recognition of Adi Dassler’s brand around the globe.  It has become the leading sports brand in Europe and the second largest (next to Nike) in the world.

Over time, Adidas has created and released quality shoes and sporting apparel that are constantly upgraded with the latest technologies and innovations. Also, athletes and popular icons alike made collaborations with the brand that have been highly admired by a large portion of the sneakerhead population. With this comes Kanye West’s collaboration with Adidas that is very much anticipated worldwide. Fans have been waiting for two years for his new addition to the highly-desirable Yeezy line.

Released just February of 2020, the Adidas Yeezy QNTM’s official release caused mass hysteria and long lines of people waiting to be handed the pair to them. This just proves that West’s Yeezy empire continues to expand from one Yeezy model to another, making it one of the most sought-after and top-selling collaborations Adidas has ever had.

  • The Yeezy QNTM comes in two variations, the Yeezy “QNTM”, which is the lifestyle version and the Yeezy “BSKTBL” Quantum, dubbed as the performance-geared edition.
  • This pair was released exclusively in Chicago, where Kanye had spent much of his upbringing.
  • Kanye had it released during the NBA All-Star Weekend and surprised his Chicago fans by giving away a pair of the Yeezy Quantums for free.
  • According to few sources, roughly around 5,000 pairs of this shoe has been released.
