DC Evan Hi SE History

DC was established in 1994 by brothers Damon and Danny Way, together with their friend Ken Block. They aspired in bringing in essential changes in the style and performance of skateboarders' footwear. Later on, the brand turned successful and grew exponentially as one of the prominent skateboarding shoe producers around the globe. The brand was able to secure mall-based sellers which aided them in reaching a broader market.

From skate shoes, DC widened their products into other extreme sports footwear, such as surfing, snowboarding, motocross, and the BMX tricks. Currently, DC is considered a reliable brand in footwear, apparel, and accessories for the full range of sports.

Evan Smith, a Florida-based skateboarder professional, was appointed by the DC to endorse their products. Smith turned famous for his unconventional ways of pulling off several board tricks and his admirable ability to adjust to several kinds of terrains. DC unveiled a skateboarding sneaker line that represents his style on his board.

The DC Evan Smith was the first entry of DC in the rubber toecap sneakers arena. Several iterations were unveiled after the DC Evan Smith signature kick, and one of it is the DC Evan Hi SE. This high-top iteration stayed faithful to its predecessor yet upgraded its upper with embossed suede material for more striking appeal.

DC Evan Hi SE Style

The high-top DC Evan Hi SE displays minimalist look on its upper that enhances its versatile appeal to many buyers and bystanders. The durable embossed suede upper is seated atop a chunky and durable white rubber sole to add a sporty vibe. Many considered this sneaker as versatile that can be easily paired with any attire - from Thrashers look to a smart casual ensemble.

Fit and Sizing

These kicks are available in women's sizing from 5 to 11 US in medium width. Men are advised to grab 1.5 sizes up than their regular fit for comfier strides. Example, if the regular shoe size of a gentleman is 7, he is encouraged to purchase 8.5 in women's sizing.

The brand used the traditional lace-up closure that can be easily adjusted for a personalized, secure fit. DC inserted ample cushioning on the tongue and collar to enhance overall comfort and support on and off the skateboard. Also, the Ortholite sockliner and the mesh lining keep the feet feeling fresh and dry all day.

Notable Features

The DC Evan Hi SE features the unique pattern on its rubber outsole that is considered the signature element of the DC Evan Smith series, called the I-Inflexion Vulcanized technology. This tech is described as an inverted cone that helps in lowering the durometer of the rubber which is helpful during the landings. This revolutionary technology also contributes to the lightness, board feel, and flexibility of this sneaker.
