Damon Way and Ken Block were the founders of the brand DC Shoes Inc., but before they were businessmen, they were buddies first. The two met when they were attending the same community college and had hit it off ever since. In 1994, Damon and Ken thought it would be a great idea to launch a series of startups including the Droors Clothing also known today as DC Shoes Inc. It is a company that specializes in manufacturing footwear for action sports like skateboarding and snowboarding. One year passed, the brand's revenue had already reached $7 million and steadily increased for the next ten years.

In 2004 Quicksilver stepped in and bought the brand for $87 million. Quicksilver helped DC to further their success and eventually reached a billion dollars in revenue. In the present-day, DC Shoes is known as an international brand that broadened its product spectrum to include men's, women's and kids' apparel, outerwear, and accessories in both lifestyle and action sports categories. The brand has also created professional teams that comprised of established athletes from different action sports like skateboarding, snowboarding, and motocross that help in the development of DC products and endorse promotional efforts.
