Updates to Danner Adrika Hiker Wool
- The Danner Adrika Hiker Wool is a women’s companion on backcountry trails and urban walks. It comes with a suede and wool upper and is lined with the brand’s very own waterproof barrier, the Danner Dry technology.
- Danner also employed their Plyolite midsole and Adrika outsole in this boot for day hiking. This combination renders comfort and ground adhesion, respectively.
Danner Adrika Hiker Wool size and fit
A day hiking boot for the ladies, the Danner Adrika Hiker Wool comes in standard width and regular sizes. Generally, it runs true to size.
This lightweight hiker is constructed based on a woman’s foot. It is shaped using the DPDX last, creating a low profile shoe which provides enough room for toe splay. According to the brand, it is best worn with a full-length footbed.
The Danner Adrika outsole is what makes this day hiking boot grip on most types of terrain. It has a textured finish to prevent muck build-up. Its straightforward design includes triangular lugs that give multidirectional traction and box-shaped lugs that render stability. The outsole extends upward at the front to provide ample toe protection.
The Danner Adrika Hiker Wool combines a Plyolite midsole and a nylon shank to yield a supportive, cushioned and lightweight ride. Additionally, a three-layered Ortholite footbed optimizes comfort. Its open-cell PU construction promotes moisture management for a fresh in-shoe feel.
The upper of this mid-cut day hiking boot primarily uses a thick suede leather. This durable material offers a soft and velvety feel. Its wool panels (used on the collar and bottom part of the tongue), on the other hand, are moisture-wicking and can help regulate the temperature inside the boot.
The brand designers lined the upper with their proprietary Danner Dry technology. It helps keep the foot dry by protecting it against water intrusions while allowing it to breathe. Likewise, the leather reinforcements on its exterior are double-stitched for added durability.
Its lacing system includes a flat lace which passes through four sets of D-rings and two pairs of open hooks at the top. The package comes with two sets of laces so the user can switch up as desired. The boot has a pull tab at the heel to assist in donning and doffing.
- This offering comes in a version without the wool collar. It's called the Danner Adrika Hiker.
