The modern-looking Converse Pro Leather The Scoop comes in a high-top profile with well-padded interiors for added comfort and excellent cushioning. The clean white kicks are secured by plain flat shoelaces. The Converse Pro Leather The Scoop is available in varied sizes for men in medium width.

White sneakers like the Converse Pro Leather The Scoop are easily matched with street-style clothing like cropped jeans and skinny joggers topped by a hoodie or relaxed-fit shirt. But a special edition high-top sneaker with its white and red combination with gold accents like the Converse Pro leather The Scoop is not something to cover up with longer pants.

The sneaker is best paired with laidback plain cotton short for a relaxed after game get-up. Wear the white sneakers with grey or black shorts and pair them with a loose jersey for that relaxed b-boy styling and top it with a ball cap for that overall swag.

While there is hardly any technologically advanced innovation to the Converse Pro Leather The Scoop, the heavy detailing on this heritage silhouette is what keeps fans of the silhouette glued to the limited edition design. The all-white upper is decked with a red chevron detailing with red inner lining and tongue. Gold detailing on the heels and on the “1980” lace dubraes also gives a tinge of a limited styling to this heritage high-top design.

Launching as part of the Art of a Champion or more popularly known as the Think 16 sneaker collection the Converse Pro Leather The Scoop is released as a fitting tribute to a heritage silhouette and a legendary basketball star. In white and red colorway, the sneaker pays tribute to one of the basketball’s top player Julius Erving or more popularly known as Dr. J who once played small forward to the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Nike Champions Think 16 collection bonds together the Converse and Jordan brand divisions with their mother company Nike as they pay tribute to the best players of the game in the form of 16 shoes. The Converse Pro Leather The Scoop brings back the 1980 win of the Philadelphia 76ers highlighting the iconic “The Scoop” move of Dr. J at the Game 4 of the NBA finals.

Basketball star Julius Erving or more popularly known as Dr. J signature move of adjusting in mid-air to score from a lay-up from the opposite side.

For Converse, the brand focused on its classic silhouettes to honor NBA legends like Bill Russell, Kevin McHale, Wes Unseld, and Julius Erving in shoes released in 2018. The Converse Pro Leather, a silhouette that has been released in 1976 as the Converse All Star Professional Basketball shoe, was brought into the further acclaim as a basketball sneaker with the endorsement of Erving. The Converse Pro leather also became a favorite among basketball players in the late 1970s to the early 1980s because of its lighter weight and technologically superior cupsole.

Now more than 30 years since the Pro Leather silhouette made waves in the court, the favorite American shoe brand Converse releases the high-top Converse Pro Leather The Scoop on April 19, 2018 as part of the Think 16 collection that honors some of the best players in NBA history.

The special edition sneaker with contrast red colorway over the white leather has gold tally marks on the lateral side. The tally marks symbolize the inspiration behind the release and the playoff wins necessary to secure an NBA championship. Also in gold are printed insoles with tally prints and Association prints, a 1980 gold label on the laces, and a 16 stitching in one of the tongue to replace the logo. Finishing the entire look is a signature red chevron and collar detailing also in red.

  • Gold “16” tally detailing at the side panel.
  • A “1980” lace dubrae on the laces and “16” stitching on one tongue gives a limited edition treatment to the high-top leather sneaker.
