Updates to Columbia Bugaboot III XTM
- The updates of the Bugaboot XTM’s third version is primarily evident in the look of its upper. Previously, its shaft height is approximately 8.75 inches from the arch. And now, it comes at 9.5 inches. This iteration retired the heel pull tab, but it currently employs a gaiter ring near the toe area.
- Still equipped in this hiking boot is the brand’s very own Techlite midsole. It is still responsible for providing a lightweight yet cushioned ride to users.
- With the brand’s Omni-Grip outsole, a feature inherited from its predecessor, the Bugaboot III XTM still adheres to snowy and icy surfaces. Its slight upright extension at the toe provides extra trail protection.
Columbia Bugaboot III XTM size and fit
The Columbia Bugaboot III XTM is a true-to-size winter hiking boot for men. It is offered in a range of full and half sizes. Also, it is available in standard (D) width only. Its traditional lace-up closure helps grant a snug fit.
Featuring the non-marking Omni-Grip outsole, this Columbia hiking boot provides grip even on snowy grounds. It includes multidirectional lugs for 360-degree traction. It is also designed to facilitate automatic shedding of accumulated snow and trail debris for maintaining its adherence to the surface. An undercut heel improves its braking power, especially on steep downhill slopes.
The Bugaboot III XTM carries the brand-owned Techlite midsole. It is made of ethylene-vinyl acetate or EVA which gives cushioning without the added weight. It is optimized to absorb shock from ground impacts. Also, it maximizes energy return for fatigue reduction.
This high-top winter hiking boot features a leather upper. Its seam-sealed construction makes it waterproof. The injection molded shell maintains its structure and boosts durability. To preserve heat inside the gear, it comes with 600-gram insulation.
Its sturdy toe cap protects the foot against accidental knocks while its padded tongue and collar enhance comfort. Its closure system employs webbing eyelets, speed hooks and a round lace. The lace keeper prevents the tongue from sliding sideways. Lastly, the extra D-ring near the toe area acts as a gaiter attachment point.
- The Bugaboot III, another version of this winter hiker, is also offered.
