The amount of maneuverability, safety, and durability that the Kenetrek Mountain Guide 400 provides is incredible. The boot is so dependable that you can count on it in any situation.
-This boot stands 10 inches high, featuring a 2.8mm thick premium full-grain leather upper with reinforced double and triple stitching. Inside is a 400-gram Thinsulate for extra warmth in freezing temps and the Windtex waterproof breathable flexible membrane for keeping the foot dry in extremely wet conditions.
-It also boasts of the custom K-73™ outsoles that provide superior traction on varying terrain and in all weather conditions.
The Mountain Guide 400 is a high-top boot that offers full coverage for the foot, up to 10 inches high. It features a lace-to-toe construction that allows the wearer to achieve a snug fit. There are lace hooks in the middle part so you can adjust the fit in the forefoot differently from the ankle. Furthermore, the leather upper conforms to the shape of the foot after the break-in period.
Equipped with the K-73 Outsole, this boot has a lot more bite on different surfaces - wet or dry. It's a one-piece vulcanized rubber sole that is very durable and resistant to abrasion. The lugs are deep to ensure traction on varying surfaces.
The Mountain Guide 400 has 7mm nylon midsoles which are really sturdy and designed to keep the foot upright even on the most irregular surfaces. Unlike EVA, nylon midsoles are extra stiff but provide much better support. They are much more common in mountaineering footwear because they offer the right mix of longitudinal flex and total lateral support.
For added comfort, this boot comes with an OrthoLite insole that molds to the shape of the foot.
Having a really high shaft, this boot is meant to provide full coverage against the elements. The upper is made of thick full-grain leather. Lining the interior is a waterproof membrane developed by Under Armor. In addition to this, there's a 400-gram of ColdGear Reactor - another brand exclusive insulation technology that adapts to the wearer's activity levels. It's made of a double-layer fabric that wicks moisture from the skin and circulates body heat.
Lining the lower outer part of the upper is a rubber rand that protects the stitching around the sole and the upper. There's also a reinforced toe cap for added protection against abrasion. Completing the upper is a lace-to-toe closure that gives the wearer a secure fit.
