Profile of the Brooks Wire v5

Use - Built for long-distance running, just like the Nike Zoom Victory Elite 2, the Pebax® Rnew plate of the Wire v5 is devised to deliver optimal efficiency for 5k to 10k races. Meanwhile, the 4-spike configuration of the shoe aims to enhance performance for 1.5k to 10k races.

Spike Plate - The Pebax® Rnew plate of the shoe has 4 a four-spike receptacle configuration. This is meant to aid in maximizing the traction of the shoe. The spike plate itself employs durable properties, enough to withstand abrasion while implementing flexibility.

Updates to Brooks Wire v5

  • Built to be lighter and more aggressive than its predecessors, the Brooks Wire v5 utilizes materials that complement such design. Its new Woven Air upper is one of the updates deployed in order to implement featherlight feel and flexibility.
  • To still maintain the quality of the Wire series, the shoes still uses the same spike plate- Pebax® Rnew. It is extremely durable and flexible while exerting maximum grip and traction.

Size and fit

The Wire v5 is available in unisex sizing using men’s sizing scheme. Women are advised to go 1.5 sizes down in order to have the perfect fit and size.

The shoe’s new Woven Air upper gives a secure and breathable wrap around the foot. The 3D-printed overlays embellished to the platform gives the foot a secure lockdown. Lastly, the lace-up closure of the Wire v5 gives an adjustable fit.

This track and field shoe is constructed with a Pebax® Rnew plate. This plate is partially made out of bio-based, renewable elastomers. It supplements minimal weight while delivering propulsion. It employs rigidity to extend the life span of the shoe without sacrificing flexibility.

BioMoGo technology equips the midsole with impact absorption properties for a soft landing and a stable push-off.  It is made out of environmentally-friendly components. It has a non-toxic natural additive, allowing it to munch away 50 times faster than standard midsoles once placed in active landfills.

Because the Wire v5 is designed to be ultra-lightweight, its upper coverage consists of Woven Air. It is a material that is thinner, lighter, and more flexible than standard mesh. There are spaces between the weave in order to enhance the breathability of the shoe.

The thin tongue of the Brooks Wire v5 is made out of the same woven textile. It is lined with soft suede that enhances the comfort within the shoe, allowing runners to go sockless.

To heighten the structural integrity of the shoe, it is furnished with 3D-printed overlays. Meanwhile, the lace-up closure of the shoe secures lockdown and customizable wrap around the foot.
