    High Top

Sneakers with collars that go above the ankles for optimal hold and support are some of the most sought-after models in lifestyle shoes. Most of these shoes take their roots from basketball and have easily or fashionably crossed to mainstream wear.

Regardless of cut, it's always good to start with sneakers that can be worn for the daily grind, also called as "beaters" by some, as these are usually cheaper, easy to clean, and still gives that lifestyle "edge" before going for those wallet-thinning models.

    Good to know

A masterful team-up between two or more entities, usually between brands and artists, pro-athletes, designers, and boutique labels. Limited Releases are very popular and are normally sold out in just hours or minutes upon release despite the hefty price tag. Collaborative works for General Release regularly come with a decent price tag, but can sometimes cost an arm and a leg because of hype, social media anticipation, or marketing strategy. The BAIT x Bruce Lee x Onitsuka Tiger Colorado Eighty-Five shoe features decent arch support and the sturdy nubuck leather upper provides enough lateral and medial support. Yellow-tipped black laces in a traditional lacing system allow the user to customize the fit according to his foot width.

Perforation accents on the shoes’ sides allow plenty of ventilation to keep the feet cool.

Channel the spirit of martial arts master Bruce Lee in this breathtaking iteration of the Colorado Eighty-Five and, who knows, you just might become an expert in kung-fu too. Wear it with black joggers or jeans—black perfectly sets off the color of the sneaker—and maybe a long white shirt on top.

The BAIT x Bruce Lee x Onitsuka Tiger Colorado Eighty-Five perfectly captures the essence of the legendary kung-fu master's trademark tracksuit, which became a cult icon in its own right. The sneaker is amazingly detailed and the design is well-thought-out, from the reflective black piece on the heel to the yellow-speckled black midsole and waxed rope laces.

Adding more interest are the debossed graphics on the heel featuring the Bruce Lee kickman and character as well as the commemorative logo on the insole.

The Onitsuka Tiger Colorado Eighty-Five first appeared on the scene in 1985 as a trail runner, back when jogging and fitness were the biggest crazes around the world. The sneaker was primarily designed to provide flexibility and comfort to the wearer while traversing unbeaten paths. It had a strong and supportive upper made of a combo of nylon and suede sitting on a durable and grippy rubber outsole.

The Onitsuka Tiger model has been the subject of many collaborations, many of them quite notable and popular such as the Colorado 85 6,200FT by Ackomplice Clothing which came out in 2013, and of course, the BAIT x Bruce Lee x Onitsuka Tiger Colorado Eighty-Five.

In 2015, on what would have been martial arts master Bruce Lee’s 75th birthday, concept retailer BAIT and Onitsuka Tiger came out with the “Legend.” It was released on November 27 in all seven BAIT store locations along with another collab tribute, the Tiger Corsair “Jeet Kune Do.”

  • The BAIT x Bruce Lee x Onitsuka Tiger Colorado Eighty-Five was introduced with a retail price of $160. First available only in BAIT stores on the November 27 of 2015, the sneaker was later on offered in other retail outlets in December of that same year.
  • The low-top sneaker comes with two pairs of laces, one in yellow and another in black.
