  • The Avia GFC Impact is one of the many models that use the brand’s proprietary cantilever sole. This structure creates a trampoline-like effect for better shock-absorption. The platform uses a durable rubber compound with flex grooves that promote flexibility. The upper unit of the shoe features a breathable mesh that keeps the inside of the unit cool.

The Avia GFC Impact is only available in women’s sizes and typically runs true to size. It comes in the B - Medium width option. It uses mesh for the upper, but because of the presence of overlays, the fabric does not offer any stretch. Consumers are advised to try it in person to acquire an agreeable fit.

The GFC Impact features a lightweight rubber outsole. This compound is durable, flexible and grippy. It has flex grooves at the forefoot area to promote foot flexion. The rubber in the forefoot section creates an outrigger-like feature which delivers lateral stability.

It also has a pivot disc in the forefoot region, allowing users to perform turns and cuts smoothly and effortlessly.

The GFC Impact uses a dual durometer compression-molded ethylene-vinyl acetate midsole. The softer foam cushions the force of impact while the firmer section delivers stability. EVA is durable, flexible and shock-absorbent.

It uses a GELfom Cantilever, a technology that centers the heel on top of a concave sole which results in a trampoline-like effect for improved shock-absorption. It provides heel support and better energy return with each step.

Lining the inside is a removable molded Super GELfom. This insole relieves pressure and attenuates the force of impact associated with working out.

The Avia GFC Impact utilizes a lightweight air mesh fabric. This textile is breathable and keeps the foot well-ventilated.

Synthetic overlays line different areas of the upper. They have a seamless construction to keep the weight down. This feature protects the mesh from abrasion. The structure at the back also serves as an external counter that prevents the heel of the foot from sliding inside the sole. The overlay at the toe box protects the toes from impact.

Traditional lace-up closure keeps the foot locked inside the unit. Tightening the laces can become uncomfortable to the instep, and the padded tongue prevents this from happening.

The plush collar supports the ankle and prevents the heel from accidentally slipping out while in motion.
