Updates to Avia Avi-Venture
- Created for men who like a walking shoe that could double as a serious working footgear, the Avia Avi-Venture combines a classic look with functionality. The trainer is designed to deliver all-day comfort. It utilizes a number of technologies, such as the ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) foam that is amplified by the Cantilever technology at the heel and the GELfom insert. These structures work together to provide shock attenuation and a cozy footbed.
- The upper uses leather, mesh, and synthetics materials. The biggest portion of the upper is made of leather with perforations that allow cool air to circulate inside. The mesh at the collar also helps in ventilating the foot chamber. As for the synthetic overlays, they protect the high-wear areas such as the toe box.
Avia Avi-Venture size and fit
The Avia Avi-Venture is designed to accommodate the shape and dynamics of men’s feet. It is available in US sizes 8 to 13. As for the width, it comes in D - Medium and 4E - Wide. The padded interior and the leather exterior work together to deliver a snug but non-restrictive fit.
The Avia Avi-Venture utilizes a multi-part solid rubber. The compound is hard-wearing which allows it to withstand the wear and tear associated with walking on pavements. The flex grooves are added to enhance the flexibility of the rubber to promote natural foot movements.
The midsole of the Avia Avia-Venture is made of a molded EVA foam. This cushioning platform is responsive and attenuates shock to keep the foot comfortable and free from discomfort or injuries.
Another structure present in the midsole is the Cantilever. This proprietary technology is described by Avia as a component that centers the heel to keep it steady. It creates a trampoline-like architecture that reduces the force of impact upon heel-strike and immediately rebounds, ready for the next step.
The Archrocker structure in the midsole is what makes the Avia-Venture a motion control walking shoe. It promotes the natural walking gait, allowing the foot to roll smoothly from heel to toe.
The inside bottom of the shoe is lined with a removable GELfom insert. This molded sockliner contours to the shape of the foot for maximum coverage and comfort. It adds a layer of shock absorption to keep the foot and the rest of the lower extremities free from discomfort.
The upper of the Avia Avi-Venture is crafted using leather and synthetic materials. The leather makes up most of the upper and gives the top section its structure and form.
The toe box is reinforced with a synthetic overlay to protect the toes against bumps during walks. The rearfoot also features a synthetic overlay that serves as an external clip to keep the heel steady while walking.
To keep the inside aerated, the padded collar is lined with mesh. Perforations are also present on the vamp and quarters to keep the foot chamber well-ventilated.
The trainer employs a traditional lace-up closure. It allows users to customize the fit by cinching or loosening the laces. The tongue protects the instep against the pressure created by the laces.
