The Avia Avi-Union II uses an outsole that is constructed with an oil and slip-resistant rubber material. Its notable tread pattern improves grip during dangerously wet surfaces to prevent the wearers from slipping and falling.

The Avia Avi-Union II utilizes a compression-molded EVA for its midsole. This material is characterized by its shock absorption and responsiveness. A soft gel heel unit softens the blow during impact. The Cantilever technology further protects the rearfoot area by serving as a trampoline that attenuates shock, facilitates energy return, and adds support.

The removable sockliner is made from EVA, which keeps the foot protected against impact. It is molded to the curves of the underfoot for even cushioning.

The upper of the Avia Avi-Union II is structured with synthetic leather which was found to be more durable compared to most materials. It is also covered with the Defender solution by Scotchgard for stain and water resistance.

The collar and tongue of the shoe are padded for a cushioned feel. It also makes the fit more snug.

The traditional lace-up closure is used for a secure foot lockdown. It also enhances the lateral support through the tightening of the shoelaces.
