- The Fierce Strap is one of the many iterations in this women’s line of workout footwear from Puma. What distinguishes it from other versions, as the name implies, is the presence of straps. It serves to connect the tongue to the collar as well as keep the extra wrap material anchored to the shoe.
- This model uses the same full-length midsole as its predecessor. It provides cushioning to protect the foot from impact during training.
- Protecting the midsole from the harsh elements of the environment are rubber outsole pods. They are strategically placed throughout the underside to add traction and durability to the footwear.
The Fierce Strap is only available in women’s version. It is true to size and comes in a B – Medium width profile. The mid-cut cleatie style, as well as the use of elastic straps, renders the shoe its slip-on design while also delivering a snug fit
The Fierce Strap features solid rubber outsole pods that are designed to be virtually flat to keep the foot grounded, especially during weight training. The rubber is inherently durable and resilient and has anti-slip properties which deliver adequate traction.
It has pivot points located in the big toe and heel areas. They help the wearer perform smooth turns and direction changes.
Flex grooves allow the sole to accommodate fast and dynamic movements. They also follow the natural bending of the foot as it moves throughout the activity.
The Puma Fierce Strap employs a full-length foam midsole. The compound is designed to be lightweight and durable. Its springy characteristic creates rebound and allows the unit to return to its original form if it gets bent. The foam also absorbs impact to prevent foot, ankle and knee injuries.
Part of the midsole extends upwards, in the medial and lateral sides of the heel to enclose the back of the foot. The cradle-like structure keeps the back of the foot anchored to the midsole and prevents heel slippage while the user is in motion.
The Puma Fierce Strap features a high-top cleatie construction with pull tabs on the exaggerated tongue and collar to make it easier to put on.
A combination of synthetic and mesh materials make up the upper unit. The mesh fabric keeps the foot ventilated while the synthetic material wraps the toe box and part of the midfoot. This design embraces the foot and keeps it locked in while the shoe is in use.
It doesn’t have a traditional lacing system, but it does feature two straps. One of the straps anchors the tongue to the back of the shoe while the other locks the synthetic material on the forefoot in place.
