During his prime, Michael Jordan was known for his highlight reel dunks and game-winning shots. However, at the 2002 All-Star Game, he made a rare blunder that became one of the game’s most memorable and talked-about moment.
On a fast break sequence, a wide-open Michael was fed the ball. Without any defenders nearby, he took off a few feet from the restricted area for an easy one-handed jam. Everything worked out fine up until the part where he totally missed the dunk. When asked by the media during the post-game interview, he stated, “I laugh at myself…if I can’t at myself, I can’t laugh at anybody.”
Michael was wearing the Air Jordan XVII Low during the game. Despite what happened, these basketball shoes are considered as one of the best low-top Air Jordans ever made and remain a highly coveted item.
The AJ 17 Low features a visible inner sleeve for a comfortable fit, a TPU heel stabilizer for increased ankle stability, and a full-length shank plate for enhanced support.
Cushion. These low-top Air Jordan basketball shoes have a lightweight Phylon midsole with a tuned Air unit at the forefoot and a blow-molded Air bag at the heel. A carbon fiber shank plate runs the length of the shoe for enhanced responsiveness and support.
Traction. The Air Jordan 17 Low features a golf course-inspired outsole design with a herringbone traction pattern for an enhanced multidirectional grip.
Length and Width. Reviewers are reporting that these shoes run narrow. They suggest going up half a size for a more comfortable fit.
Lockdown. The Air Jordan XVII Low boasts a visible inner sleeve that is designed to deliver a more contouring and supportive fit. The TPU heel stabilizer provides increased heel and ankle support while the full-length shank plate prevents turf toe.
The Air Jordan 17 Low’s upper is constructed with durable leather for support while an inner sleeve ensures a comfortable fit.
These low-top Air Jordan basketball shoes feature chrome accents on the eyelets, Jumpman logo, and heel piece.
The low-top version of the Air Jordan 17 has three OG colorways.
- Air Jordan 17 Low OG White/University Blue/Black – Chrome
- Air Jordan 17 Low OG Black/Chrome
- Air Jordan 17 Low OG All-Stars (White/Lightning – Black – Chrome)
