Video reviews and unboxing

On his way to a fifth NBA Championship, Michael Jordan was enduring flu-like symptoms during Game 5 of the 1997 Finals. Exhausted and dehydrated, he battled through a 103-degree fever and was able to push himself and his Chicago Bulls to a pivotal win against the Utah Jazz.

"This was a heroic effort, one to add to the collection of efforts that make up his legend." then Chicago Bulls coach Phil Jackson said after the game.

Michael was wearing his now iconic Air Jordan 12 during his legendary “Flu Game” performance. These luxuriously crafted basketball shoes take inspiration from the Japanese war flag and were the first set of Air Jordans to feature full-length Zoom Air cushioning.

Cushion. The Air Jordan Retro 12 Low has the same cushioning setup as the high-top version. It also boasts a full-length Zoom Air unit that is embedded in a Phylon midsole carrier.

This low-profile cushioning setup offers superior comfort.  A carbon fiber spring plate improves the Zoom Air bag’s overall responsiveness.

Traction. The outsole of the Air Jordan 12 Retro Low is made of durable rubber and features a herringbone traction pattern. This traction pattern has an unbeatable on-court grip on any surface.

Length and Width. These retro Air Jordan basketball shoes reportedly run true to size. However, it is still best to try these shoes in-store since a number of wearers are saying that it runs slightly long and narrow.

Lockdown. The Air Jordan XII Retro Low’s quick lacing system locks the foot firmly in place while the carbon fiber shank offers lateral support and midfoot stability.

The upper of the Air Jordan 12 Retro Low is constructed with either full-grain leather, durabuck, nubuck, or suede. It is designed to offer durable comfort and a supportive fit.

Originally, the Air Jordan 12’s striking design takes inspiration from a 19th-century women’s cleat and the Japanese war flag. In 2004, Jordan Brand would go on and release a low-top version of these classic basketball shoes.

Staying true to the original, the Air Jordan 12 Retro Low’s upper features stitching that resembles the rays of the rising sun. These low-top basketball shoes also have a lizard-inspired print on the leather overlays.

Jordan branding includes a Jumpman logo and a unique “TWO 3” on the tongue.

Since its initial run in 2004, the Air Jordan 12 Retro Low has returned with fresh colorways while staying true to its rich heritage.

Air Jordan 12 Retro Low colorways:

  • Black/Max Orange-Anthracite-Metallic Silver ‘Max Orange’
  • Black/Varsity Red
  • Black/White-Varsity Red ‘Playoffs’
  • Obsidian/University Blue-White

  • Wolf Grey/Armory Navy-Electrolime ‘Wolf Grey’ aka ‘Georgetown’
