Asolo makes excellent - and often underrated - boots, and the Tribe GV is no exception. If you want some efficiently designed, impressively technical and effortlessly comfy boots that you can put on and forget about for all manner of mountain adventures... this a top choice.
There’s a Gore-Tex lining that I’m not a huge fan of. However, I find these boots very comfortable and because they are not overly warm, more versatile than some of the others tested.
I tested mine on fairly easy terrain, but have since put them through a more rigorous hike, and they have held up really well.
- Designed for hiking, from summer to winter, the Asolo designers applied the Vibram Radiant outsole to this day hiking boot. The Aso-brake system is also incorporated for a more secure ride.
- The mono-density EVA midsole works in conjunction with the lasting board and footbed to provide a cushioned and supportive stride. This combination helps lessen fatigue.
- The upper is made of a 2.4 mm Perwanger leather. Its natural framework renders breathability and durability. Additionally, it is lined with a Gore-Tex laminate.
The Asolo Tribe GV caters to male and female hikers. It is offered in standard width. Regular whole and half sizes are available. It fairly runs true to size. Its traditional lace-up closure makes a precise fit possible
Asolo collaborated with Vibram to develop the Radiant outsole. This material has aggressive lugs which render traction on various terrain. Its composition delivers a grippy and secure foothold.
Furthermore, the Aso-brake system is incorporated to the outsole. It assists the wearer on steep descents. The facade on the forefoot region of the sole works by promoting proper gait and increasing support.
The midsole of the Asolo Tribe GV is made of mono-density EVA foam. This is a lightweight material which can withstand high amounts of compression. It has a low-density and shock attenuating capabilities.
With the aid of the Asoflex 00 MR lasting board partnered with the Lite 2 anatomic footbed, this day hiking boot promises a supportive and comfortable ride. It also grants all-day comfort, hence fatigue is reduced after miles of walking.
The upper of the Tribe GV is made of a 2.4 mm thick Perwanger leather. This material is able to withstand extreme temperatures while still keeping the user’s foot dry. Its rigid and natural composition allows it to breathe freely and be resistant to scratches. These attributes work with a Gore-Tex laminate, making the boot breathable and waterproof.
The lacing hardware of the Asolo Tribe GV is a blend of metal hooks and loops which permits easier lacing up. The sturdy toe rand acts as a shield during accidental thumps.
