- Asolo designed the TPS Equalon GV Evo for technical backpacking and trekking. The boot’s suede upper is backed by a Gore-Tex liner for protection from wet elements.
- This hiker uses Asolo’s Triple Power Structure (TPS) technology to make it more responsive. It includes a dual-density polyurethane (PU) midsole for cushioning and support to the user. Underneath is an Asolo/Vibram outsole that’s responsible for traction.
The Asolo TPS Equalon GV Evo is a mid-cut backpacking boot for men and women. It is offered in whole and half sizes. Both variants come in standard width. The wide option is only available for men. The footwear’s classic lace-up closure grants a customized fit. It fairly runs true to size.
The TPS Equalon GV Evo uses an outsole designed in partnership with Vibram. It has an aggressive lug pattern which renders grip on most types of terrain. These lugs are also designed to prevent mud and debris from sticking on its surface. In addition, the sole extends to the toes for protection against accidental bumps.
This mid-cut backpacking boot is equipped with the brand’s Triple Power Structure (TPS) system. It includes a bi-density polyurethane midsole, which has one layer for cushioning and another for support. This feature also incorporates three cylinders, two of which are located in the inner and outer heel sections. The heel cylinders reduce shock and provide stability. The third cylinder supports the rocker and assists during toe-offs.
An anatomic Lite 2 footbed supplies the user with arch support. It’s paired with an Asoflex 00 MR lasting board which grants extra impact protection.
The Asolo TPS Equalon GV Evo’s upper is made of high-tenacity nylon fabric and 1.8mm suede leather overlays. These materials make this boot resistant to abrasion while keeping it as light as possible. It has a Gore-Tex Performance Comfort liner which grants waterproofing and breathability. A pull tab is found on the collar for easier donning and doffing. The boot’s padded cuff and tongue promote comfort. Completing the upper is a classic closure system consisting of metal eyelets, a lace keeper and synthetic laces.
