Updates to Asolo Piolet GV

  • Designed for demanding hikes and conventional mountaineering, the Piolet GV from Asolo comes with a full leather upper with Gore-Tex lining. This combination—plus some auxiliary features—makes it ready for most outdoor challenges.
  • The rockered profile of its sole unit grants a smooth rolling motion. Its bi-density microporous midsole yields durable cushioning, and its Vibram outsole grips on virtually all types of terrain.

Size and fit

The Asolo Piolet GV caters to male and female mountaineers. It comes in standard width and regular sizes. It has a lace-up closure which permits customization of fit. This gear fairly runs true to size.

Outsole

This high-cut mountaineering boot uses a Vibram Ascent rubber outsole to tackle various ground conditions. The self-cleaning, aggressive boots render stability and traction. The wider lugs at the tip of the forefoot and rearfoot optimize grip on steep slopes. Its heel brake, on the other hand, enhances bite on descents

Midsole

Underfoot, the Piolet GV features the Dual Integrated System. This technology includes inserts under the heel with two varying densities. A high-density TPU at the rear receives the crampon connection and aids in stability. The low-density PU foam (Anti-Shock) below it connects to the bi-density microporous midsole to yield a cushioned and comfortable ride.

To provide support and firmness, the brand designers added Asoflex spiky nylon with a glass fiber lasting board. Also, an anatomical Lite 4 footbed optimizes comfort.

Upper

Featuring a 2.2 - 2.4 mm Perwanger leather, the Piolet GV from Asolo gives protection and durability. It is lined with Gore-Tex Performance Comfort so it's breathable, waterproof and modestly insulated.

It comes with a rubber rand which envelops the lower part of the boot. It reinforces the upper by rendering abrasion resistance and shielding against scrapes. Its closure system includes a round lace and a mix of hardware—D-rings, open and closed hooks and webbing eyelets (at the instep). Lastly, a pull tab bearing the Asolo logo assists users in donning and doffing

Additional Info

  • The Asolo Piolet GV is compatible with semi-automatic crampons.
