Notable elements of the Asics HyperGel Yu

- Asics is a company that takes pride in producing innovative technologies that assist the overall performance of the foot as it performs on the surfaces. One of its premier creations is the HyperGEL™, a full-length cushioning unit that’s made of foam and shock-attenuating beads that are spliced into the bigger piece. This feature is present in the HyperGel Yu, and it works with a removable sock liner to ensure comfort and fatigue-free running experiences.

- The upper unit of this neutral running shoe is composed of a breathable mesh, a mix of printed and stitched overlays, and seamless construction. These elements aim to give a form-fitting and irritant-free experience. The uncluttered design allows people to enjoy casual walks or activities other than running.

Asics HyperGel Yu size and fit

The Asics HyperGel Yu was constructed to be true to size. Runners are welcome to get a pair using their usual sizing expectations. It would be beneficial to try on the shoe first to achieve is a locked-in yet unrestricted in-shoe experience.

When it comes to width, the available option for men is D – Medium; for women, the variant is B – Medium. This product has been designed to welcome those who have low to medium foot dimensions.

The semi-curved outline of this shoe’s last is meant to acclimatize to the natural curvature of the human foot.

Outsole

The outsole unit of the Asics HyperGel Yu is made of rubber. The purpose of this compound is to protect the rest of the sole unit from the abrasive characteristic of the surfaces. It also makes sure to provide traction through its inherently grippy build and the mild traction nodes that line the forefoot and heel.

Flex grooves are shallow canals that streak across the front and back of this shoe’s external pad. Such a design allows the foot to bend naturally as it takes each step, thereby making the running experience as smooth as possible.

Midsole

The midsole unit of the Asics HyperGel Yu is made up of the HyperGEL™ technology which involves a full-length foam that’s filled with tiny beads of silicon-based gel. The purpose of this feature is to energize the toe-off and to responsibly attenuate impact shock during the landing phase of the gait cycle.

An OrthoLite® sockliner is placed on top of the primary cushioning unit. The purpose of this add-on is to provide extra support for the underside of the foot. It has antimicrobial and anti-moisture capabilities which allow the interior chamber to maintain a clean and healthy environment for the foot.

Upper

The outer part of the Asics HyperGel Yu’s upper unit is made of a porous mesh. This material is meant to cover the foot and keep it secure inside the interior space. The various holes that pockmark its façade allow air to slip through and maintain a cool and dry environment.

Printed overlays take the shape of the Asics logo, and they grace the sides of this running shoe. These synthetic add-ons help the fabrics and the lacing system when it comes to providing a snug and secure fit.

The heel part features a stitched-on overlay. The job of this layer is to help in locking the back of the foot in place and preventing it from exiting the foot-chamber unexpectedly.

The inner sleeve is made of soft fabric, and its purpose is to hug the foot without causing any irritation. It doesn’t hinder breathability because it also has holes for ventilation.

The padded tongue and collar are tasked with cushioning the Achilles tendon, the ankles, and the instep. Furthermore, these parts of the silhouette are made to center the foot and avert in-shoe wobbling or destabilization.
